Anthropic has indefinitely suspended access to its most advanced AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, after receiving a U.S. government order based on national security concerns.
According to Anthropic, the order restricts access by foreign nationals, including foreign employees. Instead of introducing immediate nationality-based controls, the company decided to temporarily disable both models worldwide while it works to comply with the new rules.

A new analysis from SemiAnalysis found that power users can extract far more value in AI tokens than they pay for.
• ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) delivers roughly $700 worth of token usage at its limits.
• ChatGPT Pro ($200/month) can provide around $14,000 worth of tokens.
• Claude Max ($100/month) shows about $2,000 in token costs.
The problem? AI companies charge a fixed monthly fee while their costs scale with how much users actually use the models.
According to the analysis, OpenAI subscriptions become unprofitable when users consume less than 15% of their allotted capacity, while Anthropic’s threshold is around 20%.
The biggest surprise: the most expensive plans may have the worst economics. At heavy usage levels, some premium tiers reportedly generate losses of hundreds of percent on a per-user basis.
