We'd like to announce that -following the clearing of some waiting lists- we have some Crowne Plaza rooms available for the convention, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hello Dealers,
We are reaching out to all of you to give context and clarity for what has been going on in our team recently and set out our plan moving forward.
Firstly, we do want to thank you for your patience in recent weeks. Before the Dealers’ Den opened this year, we embarked on an ambitious plan to bring a new format for dealers to register and provide a much more efficient and user-friendly platform for you. We’ve also evolved our review process, as we have seen an unprecedented increase in the number of dealers applying and we want to ensure we can support as many of you as possible while remaining fair in our selection.
One of the reasons for introducing the curation process is the planned reduction of the number of tables this year so that the space can be better managed by our team. We made this decision after reviewing previous feedback from Dealers, Attendees, and Convention Team Members. This adjustment will improve the overall experience for both attendees and dealers and we are hopeful that it will help make Dealers’ Den smoother for everyone. Consequently this solution should allow more physical space for everyone in the Den, whilst ensuring all dealers have a chance to be seen.
As you may have seen, we did not get this right straight away, and we have had some false starts. It was never our intention to cause confusion or upset, and we do seek to resolve these issues where they have arisen. As such, the Den Staff have been working hard to ensure that our steps to resolve these issues are in the right direction.
Moving forward, we will be waiting until after Furcation, as we know that some of you will be taking the chance to relax and enjoy well-deserved breaks, and will begin processing your applications after this coming weekend. All dealers will receive updates in due course, please note that they are being worked through in stages and that you won’t all receive updates at the same time. We will be releasing more information surrounding our curation process soon so that you can understand what is involved during this stage of your application.
We take into account every piece of feedback we receive, whether positive or negative, and we are confident that we will be able to deliver a fantastic experience for new and returning dealers alike, and look forward to welcoming you into the Den in 2024. Should you wish to provide feedback, please email us at dealersden@confuzzled.org.uk
Regards,
Kyne, Ahmenset, Jayson, and Gizmo

Registration Update
Residential Registration is now processed to a position where we can say: no more rooms are going to be released via the waiting list route. If you haven't yet been offered a room via this route, and had been waiting to see if you'd get one, we can now advise that no further rooms will be offered via this route for the 2024 convention. We recommend you make alternative arrangements.
There is one other option: our release of Crowne Rooms that we had previously announced - we still have some doubles left, please contact (both you and your room share partner) registration@confuzzled.org.uk to apply.
For anyone remaining on the waiting list, we'll shortly be switching you to non-residential. This means you'll get an email from us alerting you to the change, approving your registration as non-residential, and requesting payment. Following this, you have some choices:
- pay for the non-residential ticket
- email us and say you want to cancel
- not pay, and just be auto-cancelled once you go overdue
- find a second person and apply for one of the spare Crowne Double rooms
We are of course still open for non-residential and day-ticket registrations, subject to availability.
If you have any questions about this, please contact registration@confuzzled.org.uk

This announcement is for our Dealers, firstly to apologise for the delay in getting information to you and explain where we’re at right now. This year the Dealer’s Den saw a huge increase in applications across the board. The Den team felt the best way of handling this was to introduce a curation policy to ensure the Den had a wide variety of dealers, offering a wide variety of products.
Part of the policy was to avoid situations where a Dealer who may sell out in only one day, or was intending to only take a limited number of commissions (for delivery after the convention) would close their stand early, leaving a gap which could otherwise be filled by someone else. These Dealers would be offered an alternative in the form of one of our pop-up shops. This is why some dealers started seeing unsuccessful emails before anything else really occurred.
The higher management of the con were alerted to this and requested the curation policy be worked on together, so that if any dealer contested the decision there was a scalable chain of review.
First the Den team, then their Associate Director and then to the full Directors.
This meant that the original curation document needed a full review, to make sure that every dealer had the confidence of being reviewed, not just by the Den team, but by those up the chain if needed.
Unfortunately, this takes time - and while we now have a working document we know that some emails have gone out already, leaving some of you with questions we hope to resolve in our next announcement explaining how the policy works.
Also new for this year for the Dealer’s Den team was a requirement to send key important messaging through the Communications team, where previously they have published their own announcements. While the Dealer’s Den Twitter/X account will still be active with dealer interactions, going forward ConFuzzled wants our communications to be clear, but also uniform. This means all departments will be following the same process for communicating with the attendees when it comes to important information.
We’d like to close by saying firstly we’re sorry for any anxiety this has caused, and that any person originally rejected in the initial run will be reviewed. We want Dealers to know that the curation will be conducted fairly, and dealers will be offered the chance to appeal if their original decision is upheld. Ultimately the Den does have a finite amount of tables and unfortunately we anticipate there will be some unsuccessful applications for the 2024 convention.
Another announcement will follow this one shortly, detailing the full curation process.

We’d like to share some further news on changes to the Dealer's Den this year, as promised in our last update.
If you’re a dealer and have already applied, we’d recommend updating your application in the registration system, or send an email to dealersden@confuzzled.org.uk before the end of Sunday, 3rd December 2023 - but please read below for more details.
For 2024, we’ve introduced a curation process for Dealers applying for Den tables. We’ve done this to help keep the den exciting and relevant for our attendees. This also brings fairness for dealers, ensuring that our tables are used to the fullest for the duration of the convention. In addition for 2024 we are limiting the maximum number of tables any dealer can request to two, in order to maximise the den space and layout for more dealers.
We understand that you’ll want some insight about the criteria used for dealer selection. Among other criteria, this includes things like:
+Relevance to the furry fandom: ensuring that your merchandise or services are of interest to our attendees.
+Quality & Diversity: Reviewing what you have to offer from your portfolio or social media. This also allows us to ensure good variety in the den. Share links with us to your merch or material to help with our review (website, social media, art profiles etc).
+Table use: Keeping den tables focussed on art & merchandise sales rather than purely for commissions or pickups - we prefer Pop-Up Shops for this purpose. This is to reduce the number of tables left vacant by dealers who sell out quickly and have no further need for the space.
+New Dealers: We aim for 10% of tables to go to dealers who’ve never sold in the den at ConFuzzled before.
If you’re not approved by our curation process, we’ll add you to the waiting list behind approved dealers on the waiting list.
Unsuccessful applicants may also appeal within 72 hours (and may submit additional information to support their appeal) after receiving the email. Appeals will be reviewed by our den team, and where the original decision is upheld, it will also be automatically escalated internally for review to ensure proper process.
Some dealers may be asked to consider a Pop-up Shop instead of a table. For example, this would be a great option for those offering purely commissions, or who are running at-con pickups only of pre-orders. Pop-Up Shop slots are three hours, and each Dealer can apply for a maximum of two slots over the three days the Den is open. Hiring a Pop-Up Shop slot is also cheaper than booking a table for the entire duration of Dealers’ Den!
We recognise that some dealers may wish to update their application information in the registration system based on the above. We’d like to open a window of opportunity for this until the end of Sunday, 3rd December 2023 to add additional information e.g. Shop Links, Social Media platforms, written information, a portfolio, or anything else you feel may be relevant. You can also do this via email, but please make sure any emails have your registration number in the subject line so we can link it to your registration.
Dealers who were sent emails in November asking if they would consider a position on the waitlist or a Pop-Up Shop will be reconsidered. Although we cannot guarantee a change in decision, you will be offered the same 72-hour right to appeal once you are informed of any decision made after the reconsideration.
Pop-Up Shops - Pop-Up Shop applications will be pushed back until the Middle of January 2024 - this is to ensure that the team have reviewed and communicated their decision to all applicants of all table types. If a dealer has been unsuccessful in their chosen table type, and asked to apply for a Pop-Up Shop, this is when they will need to apply. We'll be sharing more information about access to Pop-Up Shops for unsuccessful den table applications as soon as possible, along with updating the website information

We're thrilled everyone is very excited for our 2024 event in 2024!
Last year we closed registration early as we reached capacity suddenly, without being able to tell you.
We're now announcing that we only have 150 non-residential tickets left.
Once these are gone only transfers will be permitted and no new registrations will be approved.
Our next announcement in regards to non-residential tickets will likely be to say we are full!
