Current refund status: 92.4% done.
The remaining ones include some international refunds (where we're throttled on how many we can do in a day), and some UK refunds too.

We're currently working on remaining refunds, with 121 still left. Many (but not all) of these are international payments which are taking longer to process. Rest assured our team are still working on this.
We don't like having to keep you waiting, and we apologise for the delay.

Where’s my refund?
By now, the vast majority of refunds have been completed successfully. Most of you will have been notified of your refund having been processed, and the funds transferred to the account you specified on your refund request form.
There are two outstanding issues at present;
1: Some of you have been notified that your refund has been processed, but the funds have not yet arrived in your account.
2: There are still some outstanding refunds that have not yet been processed.
We want to give you an update, so that if the above applies to you, that you have some insight into the situation.
You’ve been notified of refund completion, but you don’t see the funds in your account.
If this applies to you, then the first thing we must ask is that you contact us by emailing refunds@confuzzled.org.uk. If you’ve already done this, you don’t need to do it again.
There have been some transfers where some sort of ‘hold’ has occurred on the transfer-process. Unfortunately, we don’t actually see that there has been a delay at our end, hence the need to ask that you contact us, so that we can escalate the issue with our banking provider and ask them to investigate. We must do this manually for each delayed transfer, individually.
These transfer-holdups have been entirely out of our hands. Rest assured that the transfer request was submitted to our banking provider, and when we are made aware of the problem, we are doing everything possible to have the issues investigated and resolved.
We appreciate your patience in this matter. Please note that it may take a little while to respond to your email tickets when you contact us - our team is voluntary in nature and are not always able to give an instant reply.
You have not yet received notification of refund
There are still a small number (less than 50) of refunds still outstanding. The vast majority of these are for international attendees.
International transfers are subject to some additional banking bureaucracy. Sadly we are not a large enough business entity to have the kind of banking facilities that might otherwise enable us to expedite these transactions.
This effectively means the rate at which we can process the transfers is somewhat throttled.
We are however still working away at getting the last remaining transfers done, and we are also investigating options to speed up the process if we can.
Again, we appreciate your patience in this matter. Once we have arrived at the completion of all outstanding refunds, we will post another announcement.
Thank you
We know that the wait has been frustrating. We are no happier about it than you are. We have no desire to hang onto anyone’s money. We want to get your refund processed or resolve any holdups as quickly as possible.
Our volunteers are doing everything they can to sort this for you, and we’ll try our best to resolve everything soon.
If you have submitted an email ticket, please note that it may take a member of our team a few days to get back to you. We will respond just as soon as we can. If you got a ticket ID auto-reply, then your email is in the system with us.
We thank you for your patience and support for the convention.
Many thanks.

Charity update! Thanks to our T-Shirt sales, we can add an extra £462.30 to our charity total for this year, which brings us to an amazing: £17,785.55 - THANK YOU! :D
We know that we’re getting to that time of year where many of you will be anxiously awaiting the opening of registration. Indeed, we would normally be at least getting toward the stage of sharing some details, including pricing, opening dates and more.
However, with the Coronavirus pandemic still actively impacting our lives, we have to take some carefully balanced decisions to protect the convention, the business arrangements that underpin it, and of course you, our attendees.
To that end we have taken the decision to delay the opening of registration until January 2021. No specific date has been selected for opening at this time.
We also have to take into account that the current legal prohibition on events like ours are still in place. We are proceeding on the assumption that this will be lifted between now and the end of May. However that assumption alone would not make it right to open registration just yet. We would also need a much clearer picture of how and when these legal changes would happen. Quite frankly - we are not expecting that to come into focus before the end of the year.
We know that for many of you, the uncertainty around the opening of registration can cause difficulties, for example in the arrangement of time off work, and the booking of travel plans. However, we hope you’ll understand that we have not taken this decision lightly.
These decisions are not just about reducing the risk of another wave of refunds should the absolute worst happen. We also have to manage our business relationships, including with suppliers, our venue, and other service providers we rely on to make the convention happen.
We should stress that -at this time- we are still planning to proceed with ConFuzzled 2021. They say ‘hope for the best, and plan for the worst’. At ConFuzzled, we want to offer you more than hope: we want to offer reassurance, that we are still focussed on making the convention happen next year. We have to be realistic however, and stay mindful that we’re not out of the woods yet.
In the end, there are still too many unknowns at the current time for us to realistically open registration, so we’re going to stay on hold for now, and we’ll try to keep you updated with any further developments.
We thank you for your patience, and we promise to let you know if there is anything new to share.

Today we would like to update you all, that we have now completed processing all refund requests.
This means that if you applied for a refund through our online form, you should have had the funds returned by now. However, there are some circumstances in which the funds may not have arrived in your bank account.
If you're missing the funds, and have already contacted us (by emailing refunds@confuzzled.org.uk), then you don't need to do so again - we'll investigate your case as soon as possible.
If you can't see the funds returned to your account, and have not yet contacted us, please do so by emailing refunds@confuzzled.org.uk.
Our team will investigate any missing funds as soon as possible, however take note that -as volunteers- there can be a delay in us handling your request, and a further delay whilst we wait for the bank to complete any necessary investigations to check the problem. As a result, it is not unusual for it to take a little while to get back to you with a response. We ask for your patience whilst we investigate - we promise to do all we can to get the funds to you.
If you did not apply for a refund, but you believe one is due to you, please contact refunds@confuzzled.org.uk
Note: When you contact us by emailing the refunds team, you should receive an auto-response with a ticket number. If you do not receive one shortly after contacting us, please check your spam or junk mail folder, and be sure to whitelist the confuzzled.org.uk domain to ensure you receive any updates from us in your inbox.
The vast majority of you should have now had your refund however. This has been a difficult time for us all, and we would like to thank you for your patience during this period.
Many thanks

Whilst we wait for ConFuzzled to return, we still must ensure we have all the help we need! So, recruitment and volunteering continue!
Want to skip straight to the application? Go here:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdtfTVM5wQl4Qq6oseuZohIiRDVsjjIFAkCQNw4ksm_Pfa2Mw/viewform?c=0&w=1 and choose ‘Welfare Volunteer’ in the listed options!
Do you like the idea of making Confuzzled safer and friendlier for everyone? Have a spare hour or two between events you’re attending? Why not consider volunteering for Welfare?
Welfare is one of several front-of-house departments at the convention. It is a joint department with two key parts: Security and Medical. Security, in particular, are often the first thing many attendees see when they need any type of help. If you have attended ConFuzzled before, you've probably seen us around.
The Security side of Welfare concerns itself mainly with the safety of our attendees, queue management and access of events, and ensuring protection of property. As a volunteer for this department, most of your role would be assisting attendees, helping them find their way or answer questions, or direct them to the right person.
As a volunteer, you would not be expected to deal with security incidents. Our welfare team have a varied mix of staff with appropriate training to handle a range of different situations. This includes first aid training, SIA accreditations, and experience from professional work.
Don’t have any of these badges or job experience yourself? No problem! These are useful things, but not required to volunteer. All you need is a good head on your shoulders and a willingness to help others. And we'll help you with the rest as you will be shadowing an experienced team member at the start.
Like all the departments at ConFuzzled, we're all part of the fandom, and no matter our role, we too are all volunteers. So, give it a go, we would love to have you join us!

Covid has impacted on many charities this year, and has had a drastic impact on the ability of many to carry out their normal fundraising activities. Our Charity from 2019 (Gentleshaw), is appealing for your help. See below a message from them, and a PayPal donation link. THANK YOU!
"Gentleshaw is reaching out to our furry friends once more. Thanks to the over helming support from attendees of ConFuzzled 2019, not only have we been able to make huge improvements to our residents lives, but we have also, so far, survived all that 2020 has thrown at us. The funds from last years convention got us though Lockdown#1, without those funds, the sanctuary would not have survived.
As we approach our most costly season, without the funds normally raised through summer, we are still using the funds you guys raised. However, what we hadn’t planned on, was our animal feed room failing us and having to be entirely replaced. This essential building is going to cost £7000 to replace, We simply don't have that spare. We’ve exhausted all other avenues, but with everyone asking for funds this year, it is a huge struggle, can you help?
What will it cost you? £15
What will you get? Not a lot, a little thank you for helping us fund somewhere to store our bananas! and a warm fuzzy feeling from helping a little charity. What will we get? A new, essential food room. The feed room stores all of the diets for your furry favourites, Alfie Skunk and Saxon wolfdog. We even have a new fab freezer, bought with funds from the Con, that stores all of the meat for our birds of prey, including Brock the Harris hawk."

Registration had previously been postponed until January, so we know you'll be awaiting an update. There's still a lot to review given the current circumstances. An announcement will come, most likely this month. Stay tuned, and we'll let you know more.
ConFuzzled 2021 Announcement:
As all of you will be aware, we are living through one of the most unprecedented events in a generation. With Lockdowns of varying sorts soon to reach their 1st anniversary none of us can escape the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. These restrictions in place in the UK and many of the nations of the world are difficult, but necessary, to ensure everyone's wellbeing. We have seen to our own detriment what happens when these restrictions are lifted too early or not respected.
Last year, for the first time ever, we had to take the decision to cancel ConFuzzled. We felt then it was the right thing to do, and very sadly our decision has been proved right.
Although there is light at the end of the tunnel with regards to the vaccination programme, the situation today remains the same. Whilst these vaccination rollouts offer us hope, it will take time before the full positive impact will be felt. We believe it would not be safe to run a physical convention within the UK at this time and that it will remain unsafe to do so by May this year.
It is therefore with a heavy heart we must inform you that we have taken the very sad, but we believe correct decision, to cancel the physical convention of ConFuzzled 2021.
The next ConFuzzled in person will be in May 2022.
We understand that this will be, for many, upsetting if not unexpected news. However the health and safety of our attendees, our team, and the venue teams, is our top priority. This decision, whilst difficult, is the responsible one to take.
What happens next?
As we have not yet opened registration for 2021, we can immediately move to setting up a virtual ConFuzzled 2021 experience for our attendees during the May bank holiday. More details of this will emerge over the coming weeks, but we hope you will be able to join us in spirit, even if not in person.
Can you postpone the event to later in the year?
Regrettably, whilst we know many of you would like this to be an option, we feel it is in the best interest of the attendees and the team to plan ahead for 2022. We are unsure at this time if the situation will improve sufficiently this year in order to put on a physical convention at any point and we wish to provide clarity to our attendees and minimise the potential worry of “is there a convention or isn't there?”
Whilst this year has been an incredibly difficult journey and we have faced uncertainty in these trying times, we can now confidently plan ahead, and move forward towards the future. It is our fierce determination to bring the convention back, bigger and better than ever, in 2022!
I have more questions, who can I talk to?
We understand that you may have many questions that have not been answered right now.
Our team is fully voluntary and like yourselves, they have had their daily routines and jobs thrown into chaos by the lockdown. Having the event cancelled like this is not something we ever thought we would have to do once, let alone twice.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our fantastic communications team who will endeavour to answer (we can be contacted via twitter, or by emailing communications@confuzzled.org.uk)
In closing, we want to express as always our love and appreciation to you all for your support of ConFuzzled and the team. We all find ourselves in these unique circumstances together, however we will weather this storm as a community. Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you all good health and safety.
Kind Regards,
