Can attendees please avoid the NEC path from the Hilton if at all possible for the time being.

We have another reported incident of attendees being harassed. The police are involved and would like people to keep clear of the area.

Dear Attendee,

At this time we have been made aware of a security incident in the Resorts World area. For your own safety, we are asking the following:

+ Avoid travelling between the hotel and resorts world & NEC
+ Remove your convention badges and furry paraphernalia if you do use these pathways
+ We recommend not wearing your fursuit or other furry accessories in these areas (e.g. tail, wings etc).
+ If you must travel, we recommend doing so in a large group.

The police are aware, as are security at Resorts World and NEC, who are both increasing their patrols.

We appreciate that not being able to wear your furry items outside in these areas will likely mean you need somewhere to store them if going offsite. Please standby for further updates shortly with information on some arrangements we are making.

Further to our previous announcement on the security incident in the Resorts World & NEC area.

As noted, we understand that asking people not to wear fursuits, furry accessories or other items might result in you requiring bag storage.

We have setup a temporary bag store at Con-Ops for large luggage (suitcases). You can store your bag, and our team will operate a bag check-in process.

At 3AM (Tuesday), Con-Ops will close. We recommend that any luggage you wish to store be deposited before this time.

For Tuesday Con-Ops will open at 9AM. They will close completely for an hour at Midday. When they return at 1PM, they will operate a bag collection only service until 8PM.

We are working on a process to help ensure that all attendees who are resident offsite (in other hotels such as Crowne Plaza, Moxy, Premier Inn etc) can get back to their hotels safely. As a minimum, we will be setting up signs in the Lobby for the various hotels - congregate by the sign of your hotel, and groups can then return back together.

Fursuit lounges will remain open slightly later today to allow fursuiters to change for those that need to store their suits at ConOps.

Usually the lounges close at 2:30 but we're keeping them open until 3:00, in line with the luggage announcement from earlier.

Please don't store your items in the main fursuit lounge as it won't open tomorrow; if you can't take them with you please take them to conops.

We've had a report that the individuals from earlier have been seen near the Hilton. Please use caution when travelling between the hotels and call the police should you feel at risk.

Hilton security and NEC security have both been informed and are on the way.

The exit to the NEC has been set to ‘night mode’. You can exit as normal but to enter you will need a Hilton room card. Please try not to let people tailgate you through the doors.

Update:

NEC security have informed us that they have escorted these individuals off site. They will continued to monitor cameras and patrol, reporting anything of note to the on duty director.
