MUCH EXCITE! We are pleased to announce our dates for ConFuzzled 2022 (Physical Convention) are 27th-31st May! (Note that the Monday is NOT a bank holiday next year due to it being moved).
We are also keeping our theme, A World Reborn - with a focus on rebirth, renewal and positivity for the future!

As Head of Design, your main responsibility is to source and create artwork for the convention, in line with the theme choice each year.

Some of your key tasks will include;
+ Sourcing all requested artwork for the convention
+ Design the convention conbook / mini guide
+ Create the hotel theming for the convention
+ Designing (with suitable notice) items for other teams (conpack, roll up banners, posters)
+ Discussion with suppliers for printing / conpack items
+ Preparing the website design and layout
+ Adding the ConFuzzled personality to the written word (where appropriate and required)

As part of these responsibilities, you'll have to be able to work to certain deadlines. The most obvious one is the convention itself, but other deadlines will come throughout the year, including ensuring material is ready to send to printers, or materials needed for our website.

As the Head of the Design department, you may also be responsible for managing others in your department. You will also be reporting to an Associate Director within the convention, who will help co-ordinate your activities.

ConFuzzled is hiring for a new Design & Theming Administrator!

As the administrator for the Design and Theming departments your main responsibility will be managing inter departmental communications for both departments, keeping track of key deadlines for the departments, overseeing department budgets, and working with heads of Department.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be:

+ Managing departmental calendars to ensure that upcoming deadlines are met.
+ Keeping track of departmental budgets.
+ Organising departmental and interdepartmental meetings.
+ Tracking departmental communications and ensuring smooth communication between Design, Theming, and other departments.
+ Assisting the two heads of departments in achieving their strategic goals for the convention.

This role calls for a highly organised individual with good communications and some managerial skills. You would be jointly responsible, with the heads of department, of delivering theming materials and design outputs to the convention on time and to budget

We know it has taken a little while to get them out the door, but the virtual ConFuzzled T-shirts have now shipped, and are on the way to those of you who ordered them! :)
We’ve heard from many of you who have concerns and questions regarding accessibility and rooms at the convention. We are going to review the messages we have received and make further clarifications soon.

We also would like to apologise to those of you who had emailed in after our previous lottery announcement, but didn't get a reply. This was a failure on our part, and we are very sorry for this. We will be reviewing our processes here to ensure that -even when we don't yet have answers- that we at least provide interim replies to let you know you haven't been forgotten about. We'll be trying to do better here in future

We're looking for someone to join the ConFuzzled team as our Deputy Head of Events!

In this department, you'll work with the team to help identify event ideas, work with the department head (and take over if they are unavailable), and recruit crew to work with attendees and event-runners.

You'll also need to help project manage events, and ensure they run on time. You'll need to support other teams where necessary, such as with event signups and website information. You'll also need to help with documentation including ensuring floor plans and risk assessments are submitted on time. You'll also need to liaise with the events department heads to help create the main convention schedule.

Hello everyone,

So we know you are all probably wondering when ConFuzzled is going to open for Registration. We wanted to take a brief moment to assure you we are working away behind the scenes here getting ready to open.

There is however going to be a little bit more delay before we are ready to open for the following reasons:

+The Hilton are adding the final finishing touches to a major overhaul and refurbishment of the hotel.
+They have updated the bedrooms and refurbished the event spaces and the new hotel spaces are looking brilliant.
+We are making changes based on feedback received relating to the way our lottery system handles attendees with accessibility requirements. We want to ensure the system is fair and fit for purpose before we go live.
+To make sure we can open registration with the correct numbers of bedrooms, and offer them to our attendees in an equitable fashion, we have had to put a short delay on opening whilst we await final bedroom numbers from the Hilton.

We are hoping therefore to open toward the end of November.

We can’t give you the exact date just yet but after two years without ConFuzzled we want to make sure your registration experience on opening night is as smooth as we can make it.
