به تازگی حدود سه چهار ماهی میشه که شاهد رونمایی از زبان برنامه نویسی کاتلین هستیم. زبانی که گوگل به طور رسمی اون رو برای توسعه برنامه های اندرویدی خودش معرفی و حمایت میکنه. زبانی که با ورود خودش خیلی از اندروید کارها و جاوا کارها رو به خودش جذب کرده. در این زبان میشه شاهد ایجازها و خلاصه نویسی های زیادی در کد بود که از جمله شاید از مهمترین این ایجازها بشه به حذف سمی کالن از آخر هر خط کد اشاره کرد.
از ويژگی های بارز دیگه ی این زبان میشه به کمک کامپایلر کاتلین در خلاص شدن از شر اکسپشن های نال پوینتر اشاره کرد. اگر خط کدی از برنامه باعث بروز اکسپشن نال پوینتر بشه کامپایلر از اجرای برنامه خودداری و برنامه نویس رو از این وضعیت آگاه میکنه.
