THIS IS HUGE. For the first time in over a century and a half, a US Senator has seriously entertained the prospect of state secession from the United States. While Leftists will obviously try to use this to demonize Ted Cruz, the elephant in the living room as that a very large number of Texans do want secession. If Democrats continue to push the nation Left, then that number can only grow. Cruz recognizes this, and while he is not personally open to secession yet, he has left that door open for the future.
If Texas secedes by popular vote, there will be nothing Washington DC can do to stop it. This is not 1861. Any military intervention by the federal government will immediately be seized upon, by America's enemies (China, North Korea, Iran, and even Russia), as complete hypocrisy.
Once Texas goes, even if the federal government doesn't recognize it, that will shift the political orientation of the nation further Left, with Texas no longer participating in federal elections. This will result in more Red states pealing away. The Union will completely fracture, and leadership of the New World Order will go to Russia.

BREAKING: A major poll study was done by The Pillar (a faithful and orthodox Catholic newspaper) that far exceeds anything done by Pew Research Forum. It not only tells the "what" of the Catholic demographic decline, but also the "why." The bottom line is this, and it sounds silly to have to say it, but if you want to stack the odds in your favor that your kids will remain Catholic, get them to Mass!
Weekly Mass attendance as children seemed to be the one consistent factor. Of course, there were a good number who remained Catholic who attended Mass less than once a week, but the most consistent numbers came from those who attended weekly as children. That said, more is not always better, because daily Mass attendance seemed to make no difference in the outcome. So while it appears to be harmless to take your children to mass more often than once a week, it doesn't seem to be more beneficial either, as far as their outcome is concerned. The real risk occurs when you take your kids to mass less than once a week.

There is a lot of Evangelical freak-out going on right now, over something Pope Francis said recently, about asking Big Tech to censor social media. Ha! If only they knew! I think this young man committed only one crime — the crime of naivety. It seems pretty obvious to me he didn’t go there to kill anyone. Rather it seems he was going there (with others) to defend private property and to help an overwhelmed police department. In previous generations, he would have been hailed as a hero.
However, he was naive, because he believed his actions would be welcomed by local government and the press. They were not. He was also naive because he believed that AR would be enough deterrent to scare off the rioters. It was not.
The violent rioters tried to kill him. The police arrested him. The local government prosecuted him. And the press demonized him. That’s how the world is today, and that’s why older men like me (also well armed) sit back and watch it all burn when the big cities descend into anarchy. We know better. This is the world the Leftist created. These are the results the Leftists wanted. So that’s why I don’t live in the city, and I won’t respond to their cries for help.
