Even though I’m one of those people who always sees the glass half full, I too have days when all I want to say is ‘f**k it!’ Today is one of those days.
But in those moments, when my motivation runs thin, I come back to something deeper. Something more enduring than mood or mindset. I come back to responsibility. Something that I not only learned from watching my mum never falter in her duties, but that I think is genetically imprinted in me.
I’m talking about the kind of responsibility that’s not imposed from the outside, but the kind that’s forged from within. My sense of duty—to myself, to those I care about, to the truth, is what keeps me moving when everything else falters.
I don’t keep going because it’s easy. I keep going because I must. Because I refuse to be someone who lets others down. Because I refuse to be someone who lets myself down.
We live in an age where responsibility is dismissed as old-fashioned, and duty is sneered at as oppression. But look around—how has abandoning those values served us? And while we’re distracted, the machinery of control grows more efficient, more insidious.
If we are to reclaim our freedom, it won’t be through outrage alone. It will be through action rooted in discipline, clarity, and conviction. It will be through taking radical responsibility for our lives—our choices, our bodies, our minds.
We must remember who we are before we forget entirely. Before we’re reshaped into something less human, more programmable. The future they envision is sterile, monitored, deceitfully ‘safe’—but it’s not alive, it’s dead. It’s not organic, it’s synthetic. It’s not real, it’s artificial.
Let’s be the kind of humans that rise—not because we’re told to, but because it’s our duty to stand tall. To protect what’s sacred. To live with fire in our hearts and truth in every fibre of our being.
That’s real motivation. And it’s something no machine, no system, no surveillance state can ever replicate; that’s our advantage.
