🇮🇱🇵🇸Two IDF divisions, comprising tens of thousands of troops, began expanded ground operations in Gaza City overnight, marking a “new stage” of the offensive against Hamas, the military reports.

The early stages of the operation, dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots B,” began several weeks ago with intensified strikes on Hamas targets, including high-rise towers, and ground operations on Gaza City’s outskirts, particularly in western neighborhoods.

The IDF states that the 162nd and 98th divisions are now expanding their operations within Gaza City. In the coming days, a third division, the 36th, will join, adding tens of thousands more soldiers to the offensive. Overnight, a large wave of airstrikes targeted new areas as the divisions pushed beyond zones currently under Israeli control.

Ground troops are expected to advance deeper into Gaza City and work to encircle it as part of efforts to defeat Hamas forces there. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir is personally commanding the offensive from the Southern Command.

Some 60,000 reservists have been called up for the operation, in addition to 70,000 already in reserve. Despite reports of burnout, the IDF reports a high turnout rate of 75–85% in most units.

Alongside the Gaza City offensive, the 99th Division is conducting defensive operations in Israel’s buffer zone in northern Gaza, while the Gaza Division operates in the southern Strip.

🇺🇸⁉️💥🇻🇪🇻🇪 — Donald Trump said that the U.S. military "took down" a third Venezuelan drug boat, even though the Pentagon has so far detailed only two such attacks.

“Stop sending drugs into the United States,” Trump said Tuesday as he departed Washington for a trip to London. “We knocked off, actually three boats, not two, but we saw two.”

➡️ Trump did not provide additional details on the strike, but warned Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro to stop sending narcotics and criminals from his country to the US
