🇷🇸⚡️Serbian internet users are sharing videos showing M-84 tanks of the Serbian army damaging asphalt roads in Belgrade during a parade rehearsal on September 20.

The parade, called “Strength of Unity,” represents the country’s unity and freedom and will take place near the presidential palace.

Criticism has arisen amid the political crisis and high costs. Petar Bošković, of the Serbian Centrist Party, told Vreme that in “the most difficult situation in the country since the 1999 bombings,” now is not the right time for a military parade.

Under the slogan “Strength of Unity,” 10,000 servicemen will march, fly, and drive armored vehicles through Belgrade on September 20.

🇺🇸🇶🇦 A meeting took place in Washington between US President Trump and Qatari Prime Minister al-Thani, according to Reuters.

Prior to this, the Qatari leader met with US Vice President Pence and Secretary of State Rubio. Discussions focused on Qatar’s role as a key regional mediator and prospects for defense cooperation amid Israeli airstrikes on Hamas targets in Doha.

Trump criticized Israel’s actions, calling the strikes “unilateral” and “not in the interests of either the US or Israel,” while emphasizing that Washington still regards Doha as a reliable ally in the Persian Gulf region.

🇧🇷🤡⚡️The Lula government is reportedly threatening to remove officials from their positions if they vote in favor of the amnesty project in Congress, which could benefit former president Jair Bolsonaro, according to InfoMoney.

The government’s political team is working to prevent the amnesty from advancing, aiming first to block the urgency vote that would accelerate the project. Allies of Bolsonaro are pressuring the Speaker of the Chamber, Hugo Motta, to schedule both the urgency and merit votes.

The Ministry of Institutional Relations, led by Minister Gleisi Hoffmann, is mapping federal positions linked to deputies from Centrão parties as part of the strategy to ensure the urgency vote does not reach the 257 votes needed. The government has also suggested that deputies who feel uncomfortable voting against the text abstain from the session.

PT president Edinho Silva acknowledged the pressure for the amnesty to advance but stated the party is ready to confront the opposition, calling it “a war” to block the measure. Meanwhile, some within the government base are concerned about dissatisfaction in Congress over the pace of releasing budget amendments, which could influence votes.

The opposition and PL members close to Bolsonaro want the amnesty to restore his eligibility, but Centrão members favor a version that excludes Bolsonaro from elections while annulling convictions in the coup plot.
