The sentence was illegal – an incompetent court and lack of evidence, even of the crime itself – Fux made that clear.

The correct charges would be treason (CPM art. 224) and qualified cowardice (CPM art. 363), since we are at war – and the penalty is execution.

“Minto” was elected to clean up, and he failed.
