China proposed providing J-10CE fighter jets to Brazil in return for access to the Alcântara Launch Center, strategically located near the equator. This site offers significant advantages for satellite launches due to its geographical positioning.
The offer included potential donations of the jets to support Brazil's Air Force modernization. However, discussions did not progress due to financial constraints and Brazil's focus on its Saab Gripen program. Granting China access to Alcântara raised concerns about potential impacts on Brazil's defense partnerships.
Brazil also explored alternatives like India's HAL Tejas to replace its aging F-5 fleet, which is set for retirement post-2030.

The state of Ceará, through its Secretariat of Diversity (Sediv), unveiled the first ambulance exclusively dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community. Named "Dandara Ketley" in honor of a transgender woman who was tortured and murdered in 2017, the mobile unit aims to provide essential services, including social assistance, legal name rectification, and HIV/AIDS prevention, in targeted areas.
According to Sediv, the initiative will extend the services of the Thina Rodrigues State LGBTQ Reference Center, offering psychological, social, and legal support. Sediv Secretary Mitchelle Meira emphasized the goal of improving access to existing programs and expanding public LGBTQ+ policies to underserved areas.
The project sparked debate after conservative councilwoman Zoe Martínez (PL-SP) criticized it in a viral video. She questioned the practicality of an LGBTQ-focused ambulance and labeled it as discriminatory, contrasting it with the lack of support for other groups, such as mothers of children with microcephaly. Martínez's remarks reignited discussions on public spending and inclusivity.
