🇱🇧🗣Joseph Aoun, elected president of Lebanon, arrived at the Parliament to take the constitutional oath and deliver his first speech. In his opening remarks, he stated: "Dear Representatives, I am honored to be elected as the President of the Lebanese Republic. Lebanon has remained steadfast, despite wars, bombings, and the mismanagement of our crises. We have reached a moment of truth; we are in a governance crisis that requires changes in political and economic performance. Today marks the beginning of a new phase in Lebanon’s history."

The president highlighted his core commitments: "I pledge to exercise all the powers of the President of the Republic as a fair mediator between institutions. If we are to build a nation, we must all be under the law. There will be no interference with the judiciary, favoritism, or immunity for criminals or corrupt individuals." He further stated: "My commitment is to work with the next government to pass a law ensuring the independence of the judiciary and to challenge the constitutionality of any law that violates the provisions of the Constitution. I will also initiate swift parliamentary consultations to appoint a prime minister and restructure public administration and institutions."

Additionally, Aoun reaffirmed his commitment to security and state authority: "My commitment is to exercise my role as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and assert the state's right to monopolize the right to bear arms." He also emphasized the importance of security services: "My commitment is to ensure the activation of the work of the security services as a tool to maintain security and enforce the laws."
