🇮🇱🇸🇾🇮🇷The Israeli military confirmed on Wednesday that Israel carried out a Shaldag commando strike on an underground Iranian missile production facility near the Syrian city of Maysaf in early September.

The strike targeted two main locations, which were the Syrian Defense Industry Scientific Research and Studies Center and the underground missile production facility run by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Israel, which had been monitoring the facility for years, informed the United States about the operation in advance.

The IDF had attempted previous airstrikes on the facility that failed to cause sufficient damage.

Shaldag forces confiscated documents and then planted explosives, which destroyed the facility.

During the approximately two-and-a-half-hour operation, IDF Shaldag commandos rappelled from helicopters and stormed the facility after their escape.
