From the beginning of the special military operation, he led the 36th Army of the Eastern Military District and took part in the offensive on Kyiv from the northern direction. After that, he continued serving in the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, becoming the first deputy commander of the Central Military District.

Since the end of 2024, he led the Kursk group, responsible for the liberation of the Kursk region.

🇧🇷⚽️⚡️On May 15, 2025, the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice removed Ednaldo Rodrigues from his position as president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The decision was based on allegations of forgery related to a document that had legitimized his re-election until 2030. Specifically, the court questioned the validity of former CBF president Antonio Carlos Nunes de Lima’s signature on the agreement, citing concerns over his mental capacity due to a brain cancer diagnosis in 2018. Consequently, the court declared the agreement null and void, deeming the current CBF administration illegitimate. Fernando Sarney, a CBF vice-president and one of the parties seeking Rodrigues’ removal, has been appointed interim president and is tasked with organizing new elections. This marks Rodrigues’ second removal from office; he was previously ousted in December 2023 over electoral disputes but was reinstated by a judicial order in January 2024. The CBF has not commented on the court’s latest ruling.

Hong Kong has recorded its highest case numbers since April 2024, with hospital admissions and virus levels in wastewater rising, the newspaper reported.
