🇺🇸🇵🇸Trump Reportedly Set to Recognize Palestinian State Without Hamas Participation — Gulf Source

U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to announce formal American recognition of an independent Palestinian state—excluding Hamas—according to an unnamed Gulf diplomatic source cited by The Media Line.

The declaration is expected during the upcoming U.S.-Gulf Summit, scheduled for mid-May in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This would mark Trump’s first visit to the region since the beginning of his second presidential term.

“President Trump will make a statement recognizing the State of Palestine, without Hamas. This will be the most significant political step that could shift the power balance in the Middle East and accelerate the inclusion of more countries in the Abraham Accords,” the source stated.

The summit is also expected to feature the signing of multiple economic agreements, with speculation that Gulf exports to the U.S. could receive tax exemptions.

However, some analysts remain skeptical. Former Gulf diplomat Ahmed al-Ibrahim noted that neither Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi nor Jordan’s King Abdullah II—key figures in the Palestinian file—have been invited to the summit.

“I don’t believe this is about Palestine. More likely, we’re looking at major economic deals, similar to those in 2017 when Saudi Arabia signed contracts worth over $400 billion with the U.S.,” al-Ibrahim added.

Trump is also expected to visit the UAE and Qatar, two major financial hubs with increasing investments in the U.S. economy. Additionally, discussions are reportedly underway regarding peaceful nuclear cooperation between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. While Saudi Arabia has long declared its intent to pursue peaceful nuclear energy, the UAE has already launched operations at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, built with South Korean support.
