Drift Protocol has revealed details about the $280M+ exploit, stating the attack was carefully prepared over a 6-month period.

According to their report, the attackers gained trust by attending crypto conferences in person, posing as a trading firm inside a Telegram group, and spending months building integrations. They reportedly invested over $1M before eventually distributing malicious tools, including a TestFlight link.

Right after the exploit occurred, all Telegram conversations and malicious software were completely erased.

After being inactive on Telegram for over 3–4 months, Heal has recently been seen bidding on multiple usernames via Fragment and is now active again.

His return follows months of rumors about him leaving the community, getting fedded, or worse.

Fragment has removed KYC for most actions. You can now buy, sell, usernames, and anonymous numbers without ID verification.

However, in some regions, KYC may still be required especially for Stars and Premium. Transactions are now faster and easier overall.

⚠️ JUST IN: Per ZachXBT, threat actors stole 50.9 BTC (~$3.6M) from BitcoinDepot (BTM)

An employee was likely social engineered, giving attackers access to the wallet, where ~50 BTC was withdrawn and laundered across 18 wallets.

The company stated the cause of the theft may change as the investigation continues.

⚠️JUST IN: Gothferrari has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for his role in a $250M social engineering heist.

According to the FBI, Gothferrari helped Malone carry out the theft and was also involved in the physical robbery of a victim, stealing their Ledger wallet containing 100 BTC worth roughly $5M at the time.

😀 Pavel Durov reportedly lost the saint.ton domain after missing its renewal, and it’s now back on auction.

He originally bought it in 2023 for around $2.3K and later purchased the @saint username for over $100K in TON. The current highest bid for saint.ton has already reached 1,234 TON, with the auction ending in about a week.
