🇷🇺🇹🇯🏴 About the "Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan"

On September 14 in Moscow, the Russian Supreme Court has begun the process of considering a petition from the Prosecutor General's Office to recognize the Islamic Renaissance Party (IRPT) as a terrorist organization in Russia.

🔻 What is IRPT?

The movement originated back in the Soviet era as a network of underground religious circles. Since the early 1990s, the IRPT claimed leadership in Tajikistan. Members of the organization engaged in a bloody war with the legitimate government that nearly destroyed the country.

During the 1992-1997 conflict in Tajikistan, the IRPT was part of the United Tajik Opposition and opposed the Popular Front of incumbent President Emomali Rahmon.

After the signing of peace in 1997, members of the movement continued their activities in Tajikistan as a registered opposition political party.

However, in 2015, based on evidence of the IRPT's involvement in assassinations of government officials, attempts to organize armed insurrections and coup d'etat, as well as due to its links with Western-controlled NGOs, the party was declared a terrorist organization by the Tajik Supreme Court.

🔻 What is the ideology of the party?

The "Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan" stands for the popularization of the Islamic world under Sharia law.

Its main objectives and goals are described as "changing the composition of the Tajik government, releasing all political prisoners, respect for human rights and freedoms, eradicating corruption and promoting economic development in Tajikistan”

However, its activities now extend far beyond Tajik territory. Most of the leaders and members of the movement live in Western countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.

The IRPT actively cooperates with international non-governmental organizations Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Freedom House, etc., which are de facto conductors of Anglo-Saxon policy of "color revolutions.”

🔻 Why is the IRPT dangerous for Russia?

In Russia's Muslim community, the most actively practicing part of the faithful are migrants from Central Asian countries, among whom there are adherents of radical Islamist ideology.

Against the background of low level of education and social adaptation, Islam becomes a means of identification, spiritual support and cohesion for migrant communities.

At the same time, the catalysts for the formation of extremist sentiments are national-religious problems and grievances, fanaticism in the faith, unemployment and lack of life prospects.

A vivid example of such events is last year's "namazes" of natives of Central Asian countries right on the underpass crossings in Moscow. Any true believer knows that the process of reciting prayers should take place in a clean place, while observing silence and all the rules of hygiene.

In fact, these were just demonstrative actions aimed at a specific uneducated public, designed to attract supporters to the ranks of various religious circles, using the Internet.

🔻 The "Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan" is no longer the organization that supposedly fought for the rights of the Tajik people. Party members are currently in the care of Western non-governmental organizations.

In exchange, members of the IRP promote an anti-Russian policy in the former Soviet Union, which is profitable to foreign curators, with the aim of destroying all relations of the former Soviet Union states.

And the possibility of unimpeded entry of Tajik migrant workers into Russia opens up wide opportunities for recruiting people into their ranks with the prospect of using them for radical purposes.

With the growing threat of terrorist activity, primarily due to the events in Afghanistan, the activity of religious formations financed by Western NGO’s poses a serious danger. It is better to deal with it in advance.
