🚨Florida: 85 Arrested, $12.8M in Drugs Recovered in International Drug Trafficking Ring Investigation
🔹An almost 2-year long investigation came to an end after Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said 85 people were arrested & over $12.8 million worth of drugs were recovered from an international drug trafficking organization in Winter Haven.
🔹The Sheriff's Office worked with local, state & federal law enforcement to conduct an undercover wiretap investigation to monitor the drug ring's activity.
🔹Through investigation detectives discovered suspects were smuggling drugs from Mexico to California, then onto domestic flights to Los Angeles, Memphis & Orlando, eventually making its way to Polk County.
🔹Authorities seized: 49 firearms, 268 lbs. of Meth, 31 lbs. of Cocaine, 6.8 ounces of Fentanyl, & various other drugs.

“They would have what they call ghost tickets. They would get a ticket to travel, check their bag and never get on the airplane and the suitcase would fly by itself,”
“According to our DEA partners, 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be a deadly overdose. OK Grady, so what does all that mean? It means that 6.8 ounces of fentanyl could have killed up to 96,000 people,”
"This is the single largest seizure of drugs and arrests made in the history of Polk County during an undercover wiretap investigation," said Sheriff Grady Judd. "We will continue to follow up leads and make more arrests, so those who think they got away from us–think again.”
