قال الإمام ابن الجوزي رحمه الله:

‏ومَن سَرَّح لسانهُ في أعراضِ المسلمين واتبعَ عَوراتهم، أمسكَ اللهُ لسانهُ عن الشهادةِ عند الموت.

Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله said:

‎“Whoever sets his tongue free to slander and speak about the honors of the Muslims, and seeks their faults, Allah will hold back his tongue from professing the Shahadah [at the time of] death.”

قال الشيخ عبدالسلام الشويعر حفظه الله:

وليعلم طالب العلم أنه ما أنعم الله عز وجل عليك بنعمة بعد نعمة الإسلام كنعمة طلب العلم.

Shaykh Abdul Salām ash-Shuwayir said:

‎“And the student of knowledge should know that Allah عز وجل did not bless you with a blessing after the blessing of Islam like the blessing of seeking knowledge.”

الوقت هو الحياة، ومن أضاع وقته أضاع حياته، ومن أضاع حياته ندم ولا تنفعه الندامة.

shaykh ibn bāz رحمه الله said:

‎"time is life. and whoever has wasted his time has wasted his life. and whoever has wasted his life has regret. however, the regret does not benefit him."

قال أبو زيد النحوي:
The Grammarian Abu Zayd Said:

لا يضيء الكتاب حتى يُظلم. وفي رواية: لا يُنير.
“The Book Does Not Glow Until It Is Darkened.”

What he intended by this was to encourage the student to fill in the empty white spaces in his books by taking notes.

الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله تعالى ❤️‍🩹

"الشيخ الناصح كالأب، يربيك على ما ينفعك لا على ما تشتهيه.”
The Sheikh that gives sincere advice is like a father; he raises you upon that which benefits you, not upon that which you desire.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضى الله عنه قَالَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم:

‏ لَمَّا قَضَى اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ فِي كِتَابِهِ، فَهْوَ عِنْدَهُ فَوْقَ الْعَرْشِ إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي غَلَبَتْ غَضَبِي

[صحيح ‏البخاري]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

"When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne, "My Mercy overpowers My Anger."

‏قال الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله:

كلما كان الإنسان أقوى إيمانًا بالله عز وجل كان ‎القرآن أنفع له في شفاء مرض القلب وفي نور القلب وفي انشراح الصدر وفي طمأنينة القلب وجرب تجد.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله said:

“The more one strengthens his faith in Allah عز وجل, the more effective the Qur’an will be in curing his heart of its diseases, illuminating the heart, expanding his chest, and developing a sense of tranquility in his heart. Try and you will discover.”

Some of the people of knowledge have said: “From the best of man’s etiquettes is for the man to be silent, so much that his companion longs for his speech"
عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏

"‏ رغم أنف، ثم رغم أنف، ثم رغم أنف من أدرك أبويه عند الكبر، أحدهما أو كليهما، فلم يدخل الجنة."‏

“May he be disgraced! May he be disgraced! May he be disgraced, whose parents, one or both, attain old age during his life time, and he does not enter Jannah (by rendering being dutiful to them).”

ash-Shaykhān ibn Uthaymīn & ibn Baz
‏قال الإمام ابن قتيبه رحمه الله:

كانَ طالب العِلْم فيما مضى يسمع ليعلم، ويعلم ليعمل، ويتفقه في دين الله لينتفع وينفع.

وقد صار الآن يسمع ليجمع، ويجمع ليذكر، ويحفظ ليغلب ويفخر.

Ibn Qutaybah said:

The student of knowledge in the past would listen in order to learn, and learn in order to do good deeds, and develop a deep understanding of the religion in order to benefit others and himself.

But now the student listens to gather more and more information, gathers to remember, and memorizes to predominate over others and boast.

قال الإمام إبن القيم رحمه الله:

"حال العبد في القبر كحال القلب في الصدر، فإذا أردت أن تعرف حالك في قبرك، فانظر إلى حال قلبك في صدرك."

"The state of the slave in the grave is like the state of the heart in the chest. So if you want to know the state of your grave; look at the state of your heart in your chest."

They Say It’s Too Difficult To Lower Our Gaze At This Time
قال ابن القيم رحمه الله:

العين مرآة القلب، فإذا غض العبد بصره غض القلب شهوته وإرادته، وإذا أطلق بصره أطلق القلب شهوته.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"The eye is the mirror of the heart, so if the slave lowers his gaze, the heart will lower its desires and whims, and if he lets his gaze wander, the desire in his heart will be released."

وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ زَائِدَةَ قَال: كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيّ، إِنْ أَرَدْتَ أَنْ يَصِحَّ جِسْمُكَ، وَيَقِلَّ نَوْمُكَ، فَأَقِلَّ مِنَ الْأَكْلِ.

Uthman bin Za'idah said: Sufyan
ath-Thawrī wrote to me [saying]: “If you want your body to be healthy, and your sleep to be less, then have little food.”

من رأى أنه لا ينشرح صدره، ولا يحصل له حلاوة الإيمان، ونور الهداية فليكثر التوبة والإستغفار.

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

"Whoever sees that his chest doesn't expand, and he couldn't attain the sweetness of Iman and the light of guidance, let him increase his repentance and seeking forgiveness."

قال مالك بن دينار:

يا أهل القرآن، ماذا زرع القرآن في قلوبكم، فإن القرآن ربيع القلوب، كما أن الغيث ربيع الأرض.

Malik b. Dinar used to say:

“O people of the Qurʾan, what has the Qurʾan produced in your hearts? For the Qurʾan is the spring of al-qulub (ie: the hearts), just as rain is the spring for al-arḍ (ie: the earth).”

From The Signs of Beneficial Knowledge Are:

1. Implementing it.

2. Hatred of being praised, complemented, or displaying haughtiness over others.

3. Increasing your humility with the increase of your knowledge.

4. Fleeing from the love of leadership, fame, and worldly pleasures.

5. Abandoning the claim to have Knowledge.

6. Having bad suspicions about oneself, and good suspicion about other people, so as to steer clear from disparaging them.

الحب للقرآن | Love For The Qur’ān


قال ابن مسعود:
"من أحب القرآن فهو يحب الله ورسوله"
[رواه الطبراني]

Ibn Masood said:
"Whoever loves the Qur'ān, loves Allah and His messenger."
[at-Tabarani]


قال الحافظ ابن رجب رحمه الله: 
"ومن أعظم ما يُتَقَرَّب به إلى الله تعالى من النوافل كثرة تلاوة القرآن، وسماعه بتفكُّر وتدبر وتَفَهُّم"

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbāli رحمه الله said:
"And from the greatest of voluntary deeds that brings you closer to Allāh is abundantly reciting Qur'ān, listening to it, pondering upon it and understanding it."


قال خَبَّاب بن الأرت لرجل:
"تقرب إلى الله ما استطعت، واعلم أنك لن تتقرب إليه بشيء هو أحبُّ إليه من كلامه."

Khabbab bin al-Arat رضي الله عنه said to a man:
“Draw near to Allah as you're capable of and know that you would never be closer to Him more than anything which is dearer to Him than His words."
