Police notes on the activities of Capt. Arnold S. Leese (leader of the Imperial Fascist League / IFL):

"LEESE said that the British Union [of Fascists] was going underground. He described it as a "Kosher Fascist organisation" and said that it wanted watching as closely as Jews in the future. He had heard on good (but unnamed) authority that MOSLEY had been seeking financial support from various wealthy quarters and that until this was secured British Union [of Fascists] had been ordered to keep quiet. A most sinister feature in LEESE's opinion was the fact that British Union [of Fascists] was to drop anti-Semitism, clear proof to him that MOSLEY was playing the Jewish game."

"GITTENS said that when MOSLEY (P.F. 48909) first came into possession of a large sum of money for financing a Fascist movement in Great Britain, he asked Arnold LEESE to join him and to run the movement with a council of three, consisting of MOSLEY, LEESE and Francis HAWKINS (P.F. 47444). MOSLEY offered LEESE a substantial financial inducement for his support. LEESE said that the British Union [of Fascists] had repeatedly attacked his followers and had been constantly hostile to himself. He complained that he did not like several of MOSLEY's intimates and asked MOSLEY to explain the part played on the financial side by Dr. TESTER. This interview apparently developed into a bitter quarrel and LEESE refused to have anything more to do with MOSLEY."
