[Bloomberg: BTC holds firm despite weakness in U.S. tech stocks]

Bitcoin has remained relatively resilient even as U.S. technology stocks weaken, Bloomberg reported.

Axel Rudolph, senior technical analyst at IG, said selling in tech stocks has spread amid doubts over the profitability of AI investments and concerns about tighter data center regulation, while BTC is holding its current range on buying demand. Rudolph added it is worth watching whether BTC is starting to decouple from tech stocks.

Samuel Lane, co-head of crypto trading at Marex, said selling pressure is easing, but the recent rebound looks more like a temporary relief rally. Lane added BTC needs to reclaim $77,000 to secure upward momentum and could retest $75,000 if the stock-market decline continues.

[Sanctum adds multisig security to all wallets in mobile app]

Solana-based liquid staking protocol Sanctum has introduced a two-of-three multisig security system for all wallets in its mobile app, Crypto Briefing reported. The setup requires approval from at least two of three keys to execute a transaction.

The keys consist of a biometric device key, a cloud key stored on iCloud or Google Drive, and a recovery key linked to an email account. The feature uses multisig infrastructure from Squads, which protects more than $15 billion in assets across the Solana ecosystem. Sanctum has expanded a security model previously used mainly by DAOs and project teams to individual users.

[U.S. October nonfarm payrolls rise 165,000, topping forecasts]

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said U.S. nonfarm payrolls increased by 165,000 in October, well above market forecasts for a gain of 65,000. The unemployment rate came in at 4.1%, below expectations of 4.2%.

The nonfarm payrolls report, published by the U.S. Department of Labor, is an official gauge of employment trends across both the private and public sectors and is among the data points the Federal Reserve considers when making interest-rate decisions. Stronger employment data, including higher job growth and lower unemployment, can support consideration of a rate hike or a hold to prevent overheating, while weaker data can support consideration of a rate cut to bolster the economy.

[Bitcoin faces support at $75K, resistance at $87K, analyst says]

Real Vision crypto market analyst Jamie Coutts said Bitcoin has key support at $75,000 and resistance at $87,000, according to a post on X.

Coutts said there is a price gap below $75,000 extending to the mid-$60,000 range, and a move into that zone would turn major trend indicators lower. He added that a breakout above $87,000 would confirm an August trend reversal in technical indicators and on-chain data.

[Foundation hack exposed 21,463 customer emails in phishing campaign]

[U.S. DOL sends 401(k) alternative asset rule to White House review]

A final U.S. Labor Department rule that would open the door to adding Bitcoin, other digital assets, private equity and real estate as investment options in 401(k) plans has entered White House review, Bloomberg Law reported today.

According to Bloomberg Law, the U.S. Department of Labor formally submitted its final "Safe Harbor" rule on fiduciary liability to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, or OIRA. The measure would reduce trustees' litigation risk when adding alternative assets to retirement plans. OIRA review is typically the final stage of the rulemaking process and signals publication in the Federal Register could be near within weeks.

Under the rule, legal protection would be available if pension managers, or fiduciaries, meet six requirements tied to performance, fees, liquidity, valuation, benchmarks and complexity. The change is expected to significantly lower lawsuit risk tied to adding alternative assets, broadening flexibility for retirement plan providers that had previously avoided crypto and private-market assets under the Labor Department's conservative guidance.
