[Loopscale halts protocol amid ongoing hacking attempts, says user funds unharmed]
Solana-based DeFi lending protocol Loopscale said on X it has temporarily halted operations in response to ongoing hacking attempts.
Loopscale said its API had faced more than 30,000 malicious requests per day over the past week, prompting the shutdown to prevent losses. The attacks mainly targeted the SOL and USDC Genesis vaults, while assets in those vaults were replenished and no user deposits were lost. The protocol said it will not fully resume normal operations until it finishes assessing the scope of the attack and strengthens security measures, but plans to restore its interface and loan repayment functions soon to reduce forced liquidation risks.

[Hong Kong to open market to qualified global exchanges, file AML bill revision this year]

Chan added the SFC and Invest Hong Kong are in regular contact with leading global exchanges to promote Hong Kong’s regulatory infrastructure and market opportunities.
Separately, Chan said the SFC plans to formally submit a revision to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance, or AMLO, to the Legislative Council by year-end.

[VanEck says AI-focused BTC miners fell 35% in October, now look oversold]
Shares of Bitcoin mining companies that shifted toward AI data center infrastructure fell an average of 35% in October and now appear oversold, CoinDesk reported, citing an analysis by asset manager VanEck.
VanEck said concerns over debt burdens at GPU leasing companies such as CoreWeave had spread to power infrastructure providers including Hut 8 and Core Scientific, but argued the sell-off did not properly reflect those companies’ fundamentals. The firm added power supply remains the main constraint on AI infrastructure expansion and said existing lease contracts have not been canceled. Given the cash flow tied to long-term contracts, current share prices are significantly undervalued relative to corporate value, VanEck said.

[ZetaChain proposes ending L1 block production, migrating ZETA to Solana on Dec. 9]
ZetaChain has put forward an on-chain proposal to permanently halt block production on its existing layer-one network starting Dec. 9 and migrate all native ZETA tokens to Solana SPL tokens on a one-to-one basis.
The proposal is aimed at addressing the cost of maintaining a standalone mainnet and liquidity fragmentation, while pivoting to ZetaLabs, a privacy-focused AI application for financial markets, by leveraging Solana’s high-speed infrastructure. Under the plan, ZETA would be reshaped into a utility token for AI payments, premium feature access, and decentralized governance.
ZetaChain also plans to gradually burn roughly 55 million ZETA that would no longer be needed for validator rewards after the network shutdown over the course of 2027, reducing inflation pressure. The governance vote runs through Nov. 7.
If approved, the move would mark a symbolic case of an existing layer-one project giving up its standalone network and shifting into an app- and AI-protocol role within a major ecosystem.

[Core Scientific posts $232.9M in Q3 revenue as AI pivot gains traction]
U.S. Bitcoin miner Core Scientific (CORZ), which emerged from bankruptcy protection in early 2024, generated $232.9 million in third-quarter revenue as it continues shifting into AI and HPC, or high-performance computing, data center leasing. The company said its high-density colocation business drove the revenue increase. After colocation revenue in the second quarter reached $136 million, more than six times its self-mining revenue of $21.5 million, leasing revenue tied to AI power supply again led performance this quarter.

[BTC rebound lacks leverage, spot demand support, analysis says]
Bitcoin has recovered the $80,000 level after absorbing a short-term shock tied to the U.S. midterm election results, but caution is warranted on chasing the move as futures open interest remained flat and spot inflows stayed weak, according to CoinDesk.
CoinDesk said Bitcoin showed a short-term rebound, but two key drivers needed to sustain further gains were missing. First, Bitcoin futures open interest stayed around $53.4 billion, signaling no clear sign of fresh capital entering the market. Second, U.S. spot ETF net inflows totaled just $74 million, while the Coinbase premium remained negative, indicating U.S. institutional spot demand was still subdued.
The recent rebound was driven largely by a broad short squeeze as Treasury yields fell and the dollar weakened. Of the $450 million in crypto short positions liquidated over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin accounted for $300 million, the highest level since Sept. 21.
Analysts said that after the initial rebound led by short covering, a second leg higher would require meaningful net spot inflows. Major exchanges and research firms characterized the rally as a simple relief rally and recommended phased buying and conservative position management until U.S. labor market data and ETF fund flows provide clearer direction.
