[9:00 a.m. UTC Nov. 5 BTC spot CVD chart explained]

Spot CVD is an order-book analysis chart for the BTC/USDT spot trading pair, with the upper panel showing a volume heatmap and the lower panel showing cumulative volume delta, or CVD.

- The volume heatmap in the upper panel tracks trading volume at each price level, and the background becomes brighter when the price stays in a specific range for an extended period or makes a large move. Brighter areas may act as support or resistance.
- The CVD indicator in the lower panel reflects buy and sell orders by order size, and the line for each color rises as buy orders increase in that category. The yellow line represents orders from $100 to $1,000, while the brown line is based on large orders ranging from $1 million to $10 million.

[Bitcoin may see relief rally as U.S. midterm uncertainty fades: CoinShares exec]

CoinShares Head of Research James Butterfill said a Democratic victory in the U.S. midterm elections has already been largely priced into Bitcoin and could pave the way for a relief rally as election uncertainty fades, according to Bitcoin.com News.

Butterfill told Bitcoin.com News the market appears to have already anticipated Democrats taking both the House and Senate, so the result will not necessarily lead to further downside. He added crypto-related legislation could be delayed, passage of the Clarity Act could become more difficult, and political momentum could be diluted by investigations into businesses tied to President Donald Trump’s family, potentially leading to a run of negative news across the industry.

[South Korea’s ruling party backs crypto tax delay as fair-tax preparation]

Kwon Chil-seung, policy committee chair of South Korea’s ruling Democratic Party, described the party leadership’s formal proposal to the government to delay taxation on virtual asset income as responsible preparation for fair taxation, The Fact reported.

Speaking at a party policy coordination meeting at the National Assembly on Nov. 5, Kwon said consultations with relevant ministries and discussions with market participants had led to the conclusion that taxation should be implemented only after sufficient infrastructure and regulatory frameworks are in place to minimize market distortion and confusion. Kwon added that unprepared taxation could disadvantage compliant taxpayers and risk pushing the market underground, and said the party would use the grace period to swiftly pass a basic law on digital assets to formalize the virtual asset market under a legal framework and strengthen investor protections.

AI interoperability layer-1 blockchain ZetaChain said via its official X account that it had submitted its second governance proposal to ZetaHub, outlining its Solana migration plan, timetable and token holder protections.

ZetaChain also released the first version of a new white paper focused on private AI on Solana. The governance vote is scheduled to run for 72 hours and end on Nov. 7.

[South Korea seeks 2-year delay to crypto income tax rollout]

South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance said today it will work with the National Assembly to push a two-year delay in the start of taxation on virtual asset income, moving the implementation date to 2029 from 2027.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lee Hyeong-il made the remarks at a briefing at 6:00 a.m. UTC today at the Government Complex Seoul. The government also plans to speed up efforts to rationalize the tax system, including securing and linking overseas tax information and introducing a three-year loss carryforward, while accelerating legislation on digital assets to support the ecosystem. In addition, it plans to form a public-private joint working group to discuss tax infrastructure expansion and key policy tasks.

The ministry said additional preparation time is needed in light of institutional changes tied to digital asset legislation and the fact that virtual asset information-sharing with the U.S. is set to begin in 2029.

CERT-In said the attacks are ongoing and additional breaches have been reported even at non-bank financial companies and fintech firms that had implemented response measures following the earlier security warning.
