[1inch blocks Binance exploit-linked addresses across dapp, wallet and API]

According to decentralized exchange 1inch (1INCH), its risk management team worked with ZeroShadow, SEAL 911 and TRM Labs to block addresses linked to the Binance exploit from the 1inch dapp, wallet and API within the first hour.

1inch said newly identified related addresses are also being added to the blocklist, and the same list is being shared with resolvers and integration partners. [GoPlus links $2.7M Polymarket theft to DebugBear script supply chain breach]

GoPlus, a Web3 security data infrastructure provider, said user asset theft on Polymarket’s international site on Oct. 29 stemmed from malicious code spread through a supply chain compromise involving external performance monitoring firm DebugBear’s RUM script.

The malicious code abused users’ trading and signing permissions, while on-chain analysis linked 710 deposit wallets and 731 addresses to the main attack paths, with losses estimated at about $2.71 million. [XRPL developers propose patch for token approval loophole]

XRPL developers have proposed four code changes to close a loophole that allowed users to hold assets without prior approval from token issuers, CoinDesk reported. The changes would be included in the "fixCleanup3_5_0" network upgrade and have not yet been deployed on mainnet.

On the XRP Ledger, issuers of assets such as stablecoins or fund tokens can require prior approval for token holdings as part of user identity checks. But a loophole was found that could bypass that process through automated market maker liquidity pools and through approval checks for accounts already holding tokens. Developers are now pushing to require holding approval for both assets that make up an AMM liquidity pool when users acquire the pool's LP tokens, while also applying the approval requirement to accounts that already hold the tokens.

[Ballet founder says recovery of BTC stolen in Binance hack is nearly impossible]

Ballet founder Bobby Lee said the chances of recovering Bitcoin stolen in the Binance hack are extremely low, Bloomberg reported, citing a Bloomberg TV interview.

Lee said the stolen BTC is already in the hackers’ possession, making stablecoins the only assets that can realistically be targeted for recovery. Even then, Lee added, freezing assets and actually getting them returned are separate matters, and recovery would require a lengthy process in cooperation with law enforcement agencies. He also said the limited drop in Bitcoin’s price despite a large-scale hack suggests the cryptocurrency market has matured.
