[BTC may face heavier selling pressure on rebound to $85K]

Long-term Bitcoin holders are holding about 4 million BTC bought at prices between $85,000 and $118,000, with more than half of those long-term holdings now sitting at unrealized losses, according to on-chain analytics firm Glassnode.

Glassnode said BTC is currently trading around $80,000, and a rebound to $85,000 could prompt more investors to sell, increasing selling pressure. The firm added that while demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs has weakened, the scale of stop-loss selling during the price decline has been gradually easing.

The Block said the Republican-led Congress over the past two years passed the stablecoin bill GENIUS Act and pushed to enact the Clarity Act, but the measure ultimately failed to clear the Senate. The outlet added that disputes between the banking sector and the crypto industry over stablecoin interest payments, along with conflict-of-interest concerns surrounding President Donald Trump’s crypto businesses, were key obstacles. It also said opposition within the Democratic Party grew as the value of Trump-linked assets tied to World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and the TRUMP memecoin reached hundreds of millions of dollars.
