With the U.S. midterm elections one week away, Democratic Sen. Angela Alsobrooks said Democrats would not prioritize the CLARITY Act if the party takes control of Congress, The Block reported. The outlet added that if Democrats win control of the Senate, U.S. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is widely seen as a crypto skeptic, would become chair of the Senate Banking Committee. In related analysis, media outlets said a shift in congressional control would likely move the crypto agenda away from passing legislation and toward tighter regulation, making passage of the CLARITY Act difficult.

[YC highlights stablecoins, RWA and AI agents as promising crypto startup sectors]
Y Combinator has published a report on crypto startups, forecasting broader tokenization of stablecoins and assets such as stocks, bonds, commodities and home ownership rights. For the next six months, the startup accelerator identified blockchain-based fundraising for the AI sector, dollar- and non-dollar stablecoins, stablecoin-based banks, real-world asset tokenization, trading platforms, AI agent trading and related API infrastructure as promising areas.
The report said blockchain and stablecoins could affect traditional stock exchanges and banking systems. It added that demand in the crypto applications market shifted over the past year from consumer-focused use cases to institutional use cases, while practical financial needs such as price-risk hedging and cross-border business-to-business fund transfers, rather than speculation, served as the main driver.

[BTC may face heavier selling pressure on rebound to $85K]
Long-term Bitcoin holders are holding about 4 million BTC bought at prices between $85,000 and $118,000, with more than half of those long-term holdings now sitting at unrealized losses, according to on-chain analytics firm Glassnode.
Glassnode said BTC is currently trading around $80,000, and a rebound to $85,000 could prompt more investors to sell, increasing selling pressure. The firm added that while demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs has weakened, the scale of stop-loss selling during the price decline has been gradually easing.
