Bitcoin has been trading sideways as ETF demand weakens and volatility compresses to levels last seen in the summer of 2023, according to a recent Glassnode report. Glassnode said long-term holders currently hold about 4 million BTC bought in the $85,000-$118,000 range, with more than half of those positions underwater. It estimated the average cost basis for spot ETF buyers at $81,500, the broader market’s realized price at $77,900, and short-term holders’ cost basis at $75,800. The report added that although $653 million flowed in on Oct. 19, most of the capital that entered ETFs has since flowed back out, leaving net inflows over the past two weeks at just $67 million. BTC’s one-month realized volatility stands at 25%, matching levels seen in the summer of 2023, while stock and commodity perpetual futures trading volume on Hyperliquid’s HYPE has overtaken BTC, Glassnode said.
