The outlet said BTC futures open interest rose 8.04% over the past 24 hours to $27.12 billion. It added that higher leverage could fuel further price gains, but it also increases the risk of forced-liquidation losses if the market moves in the opposite direction. Persistent buying could support additional upside, while worsening investor sentiment could trigger a chain of forced liquidations and a steeper price decline.

[Bitcoin Core to accelerate security patch releases amid AI-driven vulnerability risks]

Bitcoin Core plans to change its vulnerability disclosure policy in response to advances in AI, as large language models have made some flaws easier to find and reduced the effectiveness of the previous practice of keeping them undisclosed for extended periods, Cointelegraph reported.

Bitcoin Core developer Antoine Poinsot said on the developer mailing list on Oct. 22 the previous policy had delayed the rollout of security patches. For vulnerabilities that are easy to discover, Bitcoin Core plans to apply patches as quickly as possible across all major versions currently under maintenance and disclose related security information at the same time as the updates.

[Ethereum delays Glamsterdam upgrade on Hoodi testnet over security concerns]

Ethereum developers have delayed the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet, which had been scheduled for Oct. 26, to allow further review of security issues, CoinDesk reported. The decision followed concerns that changes to gas-cost calculations could affect error handling in existing smart contracts. ChainSecurity said on Oct. 13 that if EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 are implemented together, calls between smart contracts could produce different error-handling outcomes than before when gas fees are exhausted. A revised schedule has not yet been announced.

[Brent above $100 raises concern over tighter liquidity for BTC, analyst says]

On-chain analyst Darkfost said Brent crude trading above $100 a barrel is creating a macroeconomic backdrop that is unfavorable for Bitcoin. Rising oil prices, driven by tensions in the Middle East and expanded Ukrainian attacks on Russian refining facilities, are increasing inflation pressure across production costs and service prices.

According to the analysis, Bitcoin has historically tended to lose momentum when Brent posts strong gains above its annual average. By contrast, Bitcoin has often recovered when oil prices fall sharply. In July, Bitcoin rebounded as upward pressure on oil prices temporarily eased, but Brent has since surged again. Darkfost said capital rotation across markets could still extend Bitcoin's advance, but current macro conditions are unfavorable for fresh liquidity inflows.

[Two Finch AI agent proposals enter Ethereum ERC review process]

Two AI agent-related standards proposed by the Finch team have been listed in Ethereum’s official ERC repository, Odaily reported. The proposals are ERC-8436, a framework for collective decision-making among agents, and ERC-8444, which covers on-chain Agentic Resource Discovery, or "ARD."

All seven standards proposals led by Finch founder and CEO Gary Yang — ERC-8338, ERC-8414, ERC-8419, ERC-8434, ERC-8436, ERC-8444 and ERC-8447 — have now been assigned ERC numbers. The proposals cover a range of areas including AI agents’ technology and functions, tasks, reliability, identity, collective decision-making, resource discovery and cluster organization.

ERC-8436 and ERC-8444 are now set to undergo review on Ethereum Magicians, an Ethereum community forum. The ERC number assignments and repository listings mean the proposals have entered Ethereum’s formal review system, but do not indicate final standard adoption or implementation across the broader ecosystem.
