[CryptoQuant says BTC unfazed as major U.S. miners shift toward AI]
Bitcoin has seen no meaningful damage even as large U.S.-listed mining companies shift toward the AI industry, with private and non-U.S. miners quickly filling the gap, according to on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant.
CryptoQuant said five U.S.-listed mining companies signed more than $50 billion in AI leasing contracts, reducing the computing power allocated to Bitcoin mining by about 47%. Even so, Bitcoin’s hashrate has still risen to 105 EH/s since August and has held at a level 8.8% below its peak, CryptoQuant said.

[a16z says Frontier rebrand broadens scope, will keep investing in crypto]
Andreessen Horowitz, or a16z, said through an official channel that rebranding its flagship crypto-focused fund from a16z Crypto to a16z Frontier is meant to expand its investment scope, not reduce existing crypto investments.
The firm said a16z Frontier will continue investing in cryptocurrency and related sectors, while also continuing its efforts to help establish reasonable crypto regulations. It said the broader mandate will extend to frontier startups developing new technologies and creating new markets, with a particular focus on AI-driven technological shifts, new products and services, autonomous devices, and AI agent-based networks. CoinNess previously reported that a16z had dropped the term "crypto" from the name of its flagship blockchain fund.

[Ethereum may face deeper losses if it falls below $2,360]
Ethereum has pulled back to around $2,400 as its recent rebound lost momentum, raising the possibility of further declines if key support levels fail, CryptoPotato reported.
On the daily chart, Ethereum rebounded to the $2,480-$2,520 range but failed to sustain the advance, according to the report. As bearish candles emerged, the price returned to the $2,360-$2,440 demand zone and slipped below the lower boundary of an ascending channel, suggesting buyers are defending nearby support but have yet to regain control of the market.
CryptoPotato said the main bearish scenario would unfold if Ethereum closes below $2,360 on a daily basis and then falls toward the recent low near $2,320. If that area also breaks, the correction could deepen further toward $2,200-$2,270.
Still, the outlet added the current demand zone has not decisively collapsed. If the price reclaims $2,440 and the lower boundary of the ascending channel, the near-term bearish outlook could weaken. A break above the $2,480-$2,520 range would then be needed to end the pattern of lower highs and lower lows and extend the broader rebound.

[BTC profitability metric nears 2022 low as new whales show just 6.3% gains]
A long-term indicator tracking Bitcoin holders’ profitability is approaching its lowest level since November 2022, according to crypto analyst Amr Taha.
CryptoPotato explained there is a key difference from November 2022: Bitcoin was trading at around $16,000 then, versus roughly $81,000 now. The outlet said large-scale investors that have recently made sizable purchases have an average cost basis of $77,120, meaning that if BTC is currently at $82,000, their returns are only about 6.3%. By contrast, the average realized price based on Binance deposit addresses is about $64,200, leaving a wider gap with the current price. That suggests recently entered whale investors may be more vulnerable to price declines and less able to hold through drawdowns than existing holders.

[JPMorgan says regulators are softening Clarity Act setback, but uncertainty remains]
JPMorgan said U.S. regulators are partly offsetting the negative impact of the Clarity Act’s defeat, but more durable long-term regulation is still needed, The Block reported.
According to a report by a research team led by JPMorgan analyst Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, regulator-led measures could, in the short term, encourage institutional investor participation in the crypto ecosystem. Over the longer term, however, the team said only legislation can provide a more robust foundation. Without related legislation, political and legal risks still remain, it added, noting the market currently has to rely on regulatory measures that could be reversed within two years if a Democratic candidate wins the White House.

Ki said capital could now move back into Bitcoin, while noting an AI market collapse would not necessarily be either bullish or bearish for Bitcoin because the two markets appear unrelated.
