[Blockchain Association urges bipartisan crypto tax legislation in Congress]

The Blockchain Association, a U.S. cryptocurrency lobbying group, sent a letter to House and Senate leaders urging bipartisan legislation on crypto tax rules.

The group said about 67 million Americans hold and use digital assets, but the current tax regime was designed for an earlier economic environment, creating uncertainty and excessive reporting and compliance burdens for taxpayers while driving innovation overseas. The association’s proposed tax principles for cryptocurrencies include a de minimis exemption for small transactions, changes to the taxation of mining and staking rewards, taxpayer privacy protections, taxation based on economic substance, and revisions to wash sale rules. It also launched a website, TaxClarityforAmerica.com, where the public can review related tax rules, track congressional legislative progress, and send feedback to their representatives.

[Justin Sun says WLFI suit is routine investor action, still backs Trump crypto policy]

Tron founder Justin Sun said his lawsuit against the Trump family’s crypto project World Liberty Financial (WLFI) was a routine exercise of investor rights and does not change his support for President Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency policy.

In a recent interview, Sun said the WLFI project lacked transparency and adequate disclosure, and raised suspected fraud concerns, prompting him to formally file suit in a federal court in California. Sun added the case was an individual dispute and said his support remained unchanged for Trump’s cryptocurrency policy and strategy for developing the artificial intelligence industry.

Sun said the amount tied to the lawsuit with WLFI could reach $400 million to $500 million, but would not have a major impact on his overall asset portfolio. Sun also said he continues to invest in U.S. technology stocks and remains optimistic about approval of a spot TRX ETF, the onchain migration of the U.S. stock market, U.S. dollar strength, and growth in the AI industry.

Separately, Sun filed the lawsuit in April, alleging WLFI had improperly frozen tokens belonging to him as an early investor and restricted his participation in governance voting.

[Ansem says meme coin opportunity lies in trading demand, not token picking]

Crypto trader Ansem said on X there is a bigger opportunity in building services around speculative trading itself than in predicting the next meme coin to capture market attention.

Ansem added that younger traders are becoming increasingly comfortable with assets whose value is shaped by internet culture, and said their behavior differs significantly from that of traditional investors. While individual memes may emerge and disappear, demand for trading them could prove more durable, Ansem said, adding that Ansem is interested in how developers can turn that recurring trading activity into sustainable businesses and long-term value.

[Ethereum may face deeper losses if it falls below $2,360]

Ethereum has pulled back to around $2,400 as its recent rebound lost momentum, raising the possibility of further declines if key support levels fail, CryptoPotato reported.

On the daily chart, Ethereum rebounded to the $2,480-$2,520 range but failed to sustain the advance, according to the report. As bearish candles emerged, the price returned to the $2,360-$2,440 demand zone and slipped below the lower boundary of an ascending channel, suggesting buyers are defending nearby support but have yet to regain control of the market.

CryptoPotato said the main bearish scenario would unfold if Ethereum closes below $2,360 on a daily basis and then falls toward the recent low near $2,320. If that area also breaks, the correction could deepen further toward $2,200-$2,270.

Still, the outlet added the current demand zone has not decisively collapsed. If the price reclaims $2,440 and the lower boundary of the ascending channel, the near-term bearish outlook could weaken. A break above the $2,480-$2,520 range would then be needed to end the pattern of lower highs and lower lows and extend the broader rebound.
