[Kaiko says BTC leverage down 20% since October washout, spot liquidity off 27%]

Bitcoin market leverage has declined since the $19 billion crypto liquidation event in October last year, but spot liquidity has yet to recover, according to crypto market data firm Kaiko.

BTC open interest in perpetual futures was down about 16% in BTC terms from before the Oct. 10, 2025 liquidation event. The leverage-to-market-depth ratio fell to around 55x from an average of 73.5x before the event, remaining about 20% lower. Kaiko said lower leverage reduces the risk of short-term cascading liquidations, while thinner liquidity has also reduced the market’s capacity to absorb large orders, leaving prices still vulnerable to volatility.

[Latvia passes crypto tax overhaul to ease transfer-related tax burden]

Latvia’s parliament has passed a bill to change how cryptocurrency is taxed and introduce a special disclosure program for previously held assets, NewsBTC reported.

Under the new tax framework, transfers between cryptocurrencies within an account will not automatically trigger taxation, and tax will apply only when withdrawals from the account exceed cumulative deposits. Investors, however, must keep records that can verify deposit and withdrawal histories. The bill also creates a one-time disclosure program for investors who have difficulty confirming the acquisition cost of cryptocurrencies bought in the past. Eligible holders can formally declare existing assets by paying 10% of the value of holdings as of the end of this year.

Byworth also said Strive bought an amount of BTC in a single transaction over the past week equal to three times the weekly volume of newly issued BTC, adding the next rally was only a matter of time.

[Nine big tech firms oppose stock token listings on OKX-ICE platform]

Nine major listed companies, including Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth and CoreWeave, have formally exercised their right to reject stock token listings through OKXICE, a joint platform formed by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange.

Under the U.S. SEC’s innovation exemption framework dated Sept. 17, third-party platforms must notify issuers in advance before tokenizing and listing shares, and issuers have 30 days to object to the listing. The specific reasons for the objections were not disclosed, though the move was seen as reflecting concerns over shareholder protection and distribution control. Despite on-chain RWA and stablecoin assets surging to $320 billion, tensions over leadership in tokenized stocks between major traditional financial firms and listed companies are expected to persist for the time being.
