[AI sentiment, not BTC, drives bitcoin miner stocks, Binance Research says]

Bitcoin mining stocks have become more sensitive to AI-sector investor sentiment and financing conditions than to BTC prices as miners pivot to AI data center businesses, according to a Binance Research analysis.

The research said BTC fell 28% from January through June 18 this year, while the bitcoin miner ETF WGMI rose 88%. After that, BTC rebounded 30%, but WGMI instead plunged 57%. Over the past 60 days, the correlation between BTC and recent AI-transitioning miners including IREN, Core Scientific, TeraWulf and Cipher was only 0.29 to 0.33, while their correlation with semiconductor stocks reached 0.59 to 0.77. Shares of those companies have fallen 54% to 69% since June. By contrast, Mara, Riot and CleanSpark, which hold large amounts of BTC, showed relatively higher correlations with BTC at 0.41 to 0.57, and their share-price declines were smaller. Binance Research said AI-transitioning miners are now becoming investment vehicles that reflect financing conditions in the AI industry more than BTC prices, and warned that if financial conditions worsen, more BTC sales to repay debt could add selling pressure in a bear market.

[XRP tests $1.22-$1.34 support; reclaiming $1.70 seen as key]

XRP is testing a key support zone at $1.22-$1.34, and a recovery into the $1.50-$1.70 range could open the way for a rise to $2.09 and $2.32, according to a Crypto Briefing analysis.

Crypto Briefing said XRP briefly fell to $1.2840 last week, entering the support area, before rebounding as buying interest emerged. The outlet identified $1.2193 as the key support level. XRP formed a low at around $1 in August and later climbed to around $1.70, but it has recently come under renewed pressure.

It added that if XRP stays below $1.2193 on a weekly basis, the pattern of trying to form a higher low than the previous bottom could weaken, raising the possibility of a retest of the August low. If the support level holds, however, the main focus will be whether XRP can recover the $1.50-$1.70 range. Crypto Briefing described that zone as a resistance area with heavy overhead supply, requiring gains of about 12% and 27%, respectively, from current levels. A breakout above that resistance and a flip into support would strengthen the case for the rebound trend that began in August to resume.

[PAPER mining rewards plunge, raising concerns over future sell pressure]

Mining economics for PAPER, the token of trading-loss compensation-based derivatives protocol Papertrade, have deteriorated sharply, according to crypto analyst Ignas. PAPER rewards paid per $1 in trading losses have fallen from an initial 100 tokens to about 11 tokens.

At current staking yield levels, recovering a $1,000 loss through rewards would take about 200 to 385 days, a figure that does not reflect dilution from additional token issuance. Ignas added that once PAPER transfers are enabled, some users may prefer to sell tokens directly to recoup losses, potentially creating sell pressure.

[BTC volatility below one-year average, sharp moves seen outside $80K-$88K range]

Bitcoin options implied volatility has fallen below its one-year average, and price swings could widen as upcoming options expiry and shifts in macro conditions reshape the market, QCP Capital said.

The firm said BTC options implied volatility remains below its one-year average across all maturities even as stock-market volatility has increased, suggesting options dealers’ long gamma positions are helping keep Bitcoin within a relatively stable range. QCP Capital added that this stabilizing effect could weaken once existing positions expire. If deleveraging in the stock market persists, selling pressure could spread to crypto and threaten Bitcoin’s $80,000 support, it said. On the other hand, rising U.S. Treasury prices, falling real yields and a weaker dollar could support risk assets including BTC. QCP Capital said low volatility and options expiry do not by themselves determine price direction, but if BTC consistently breaks above or below the $80,000-$88,000 range, both spot prices and options implied volatility could shift sharply at the same time.

It also said fraudsters have been infiltrating blockchain developer communities, flaunting technical expertise to lower investors’ guard.

[Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade may cut TPS metric while improving network efficiency]

Finbold reported Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade could reduce the network’s transactions-per-second metric by around 60%, while actual operating efficiency may improve.

The core of the Alpenglow upgrade is moving validator voting from on-chain to off-chain. As a result, validation vote transactions previously included in TPS are expected to be excluded from the count, lowering the displayed throughput. After the upgrade, on-chain transaction records are expected to reflect actual DApp user activity more closely, while reducing network resources previously used for validator voting and improving processing efficiency.

[Kaiko says BTC leverage down 20% since October washout, spot liquidity off 27%]

Bitcoin market leverage has declined since the $19 billion crypto liquidation event in October last year, but spot liquidity has yet to recover, according to crypto market data firm Kaiko.

BTC open interest in perpetual futures was down about 16% in BTC terms from before the Oct. 10, 2025 liquidation event. The leverage-to-market-depth ratio fell to around 55x from an average of 73.5x before the event, remaining about 20% lower. Kaiko said lower leverage reduces the risk of short-term cascading liquidations, while thinner liquidity has also reduced the market’s capacity to absorb large orders, leaving prices still vulnerable to volatility.
