[Former Hack VC partner found dead after alleging pressure at the firm]

Hsin-Ju Chuang, a former partner at crypto fund manager Hack VC, was found dead near an Interstate 15 access road in California’s Mojave Desert on Aug. 24, Wu Blockchain reported. Chuang was 37, and local investigators are examining the exact cause of death.

In a post published days before the death, Chuang said that while at Hack VC, Chuang suffered from severe hyperthyroidism caused by Graves’ disease, as well as insomnia. Chuang also alleged that despite those health issues, partners at the firm pressured Chuang by saying Chuang would be pushed out of the industry, and that Chuang had to continue handling an intensive workload and preparing for events related to Korea Blockchain Week, or KBW.

Chuang had previously said Chuang rejected a pending settlement with the company that included private mediation and a nondisclosure agreement, and planned to release evidence related to the dispute on Aug. 26. No link between the death and the dispute with the company has been confirmed.

[BTC long-term holders sit on 37% unrealized gains over average cost: analyst]

On-chain analyst Axel Adler Jr. said Bitcoin long-term holders are sitting on roughly 37% unrealized gains versus their average purchase price after the recent price rise.

In a blog post, Adler said BTC was priced at $86,406 as of Sept. 23, while the average cost basis for holders who have kept the asset for more than six months stood at $62,706. A week earlier, unrealized gains relative to that average cost basis were 20%, and the cost basis itself had changed little, indicating the expanded gains came from Bitcoin’s price increase. In early August, the group’s average purchase price and BTC’s market price moved close enough that they nearly slipped into losses.

[Bloomberg analyst says BTC at $60K likely wasn’t this cycle’s final bottom]

Bloomberg senior analyst Mike McGlone said in a recent report that it is unlikely Bitcoin formed its final bottom for this cycle around $60,000 earlier this year.

McGlone said BTC appears to have entered a pullback phase after first rising above $100,000 on a monthly closing basis in January 2025. He added that record-high U.S. stocks and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield climbing above 5% in the third quarter could weigh on assets such as BTC that do not generate income.

Aljarrah said investors who have not accumulated as much XRP as they wanted should avoid getting swept up in the rally and instead look for a better entry point if the token corrects again. The outlet added that any further pullback would not necessarily mean a return to the August low of $0.978. XRP was trading at $1.59, up 23.96% over the past week, according to CoinMarketCap.
