BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes published a new essay, Situationship, arguing that the AI investment boom resembles a real estate buildout rather than a traditional technology cycle. He said excessive investment in data centers and related infrastructure could make an eventual AI bubble burst more similar to the 2008 credit crisis than the 2000 dot-com crash.
