I have spoken about this for almost a decade to people with regard to solar as a "renewable" energy source.

Efficiency drops 5-7% at 104F for solar; but a fine coat of dust will drop the efficiency even more.

A hot dusty environment can trim 20% or more off of the efficiency, which neccessitates a water source for frequent cleaning of panel glass.

Guess where we put solar panels in CA?

Hot, dusty desert areas. Complete insanity. When we most need the power for cooling homes -- peak summer -- is when the panels perform the worst.
