I wrapped the transliteration engine into a standalone package, built a browser extension on top of it, and kept the VS Code + Cursor extensions too.

And since I can't,won't and don't want to pay Chrome’s $5 extension store fee 😅, you can't install it fromt eh chrome's extension BUT instead you can install Fidel yourself from the Website: fidel-x.netlify.app. It is super easy and matter of 3 or 4 steps only .

The setup guides for Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, and more are all there in the web.

What it does
• Live transliteration while you type in your browser. Toggle it on and off with a keyboard shortcut.

• Search & Google Docs support: Chrome’s search bar and Google Docs refuse to let extensions hijack input events 🙄. Until I crack their ahh and find a way around it, ..... Use Fidel’s popup → transliterate → copy → paste it wherever you need.

• Exclude specific websites: Choose URLs that should never be transliterated, even when Fidel is enabled. This makes switching between tabs smoother.
• Custom transliteration rules: Add your own words and mappings directly from Fidel’s settings. Your custom words are remembered and intelligently preserved as you type.

And there’s more, but you get the idea.

It’s small, minimal, and probably not something you’ll need every day — but when you need it, it can be really handy.
