🔹If the PCT reduces by 80% to 90% or falls below 0.25 ng/mL (mcg/L), then it may be reasonable to discontinue antibiotics, assuming they do not continue to show other signs of infection such as hemodynamic instability or respiratory distress.

Severity and acuity of the disease, local epidemiology and antibiogram,
patient history,
host factors,
factors related to the drugs used, and the necessity for using multiple agents.
