El director de la CVS, Orlando Medina, en colaboración con Conservación Internacional Colombia, expuso esta iniciativa pionera que integra la conservación de manglares con el desarrollo sostenible de las comunidades costeras en el Golfo de Morrosquillo.
El programa se sustenta en el fortalecimiento de la gobernanza local, la implementación de proyectos productivos alternativos, la rehabilitación de áreas de manglar y el monitoreo participativo comunitario en La Bahía de Cispatá La Balsa y Tinajones.
La participación en la COP16 ratifica el liderazgo de la CVS en la implementación de proyectos innovadores para la protección de ecosistemas costeros en Colombia.
