The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) hosted a meeting with an EUMETSAT delegation at Meghdoot Hall, MoES, under the chairmanship of Dr. T. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala (@tummalasrini), Secretary, @moesgoi.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks by Dr. M. Mohapatra, Director General of Meteorology, India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In his remarks, the Secretary emphasised the importance of India’s longstanding and valued cooperation with EUMETSAT in Earth observation, weather, climate and ocean monitoring. The Secretary highlighted the need to further strengthen institutional and scientific collaboration, enhance data sharing and facilitate greater exchange of expertise and knowledge.

The discussions covered ongoing cooperation among MoES, @Indiametdept, @ncmrwfmoes, and EUMETSAT, including satellite data sharing and access to archived satellite datasets, while exploring opportunities to further expand collaboration in Earth observation, operational meteorology, and climate services.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening India–EUMETSAT cooperation and advancing international collaboration in Earth system science.
