ICYMI -- for today, 9/3/26

Tomorrow (Thursday, September 3rd) Weather Outlook

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible extending from the Upper Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall associated with T.D. Edouard and its remnants is expected to linger across eastern TX and bring additional flash flooding potential. Increasing thunderstorm coverage may also produce areas of flash flooding in the Southwest, specifically for southeast AZ.

Puerto Rico’s wet season usually begins in May, but rainfall has been low this year.

By late August, drought had spread across much of Puerto Rico, contributing to water shortages and rationing in some areas. NASA data is helping scientists track drought conditions. https://t.co/03emewTrT1

What’s happening inside a hurricane can help forecasters understand how dangerous a storm may become. 🌀🛰️

Researchers use microwave observations from the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) on board @NOAA’s #JPSS satellites to develop tools that help forecasters estimate hurricane intensity and the extent of damaging winds.
