A smarter way to work with Landsat metadata.

Landsat bulk metadata files contain every scene in the USGS archive across more than 53 years, are updated daily, and can be burdensome to manage in historic file formats.

There’s another option: Parquet!

But not THAT parquet.

While this patchwork of agricultural fields in Romania may resemble parquet flooring, we're here to talk about a different kind of Parquet: a file format that makes working with Landsat bulk metadata faster and more efficient.

The Parquet file format offers several advantages over the legacy xml and csv formats:

➡️Easy integration with analytics and processing systems
