Time for another #WhereInTheWorld Wednesday!

This oval-shaped, 100-mile-wide basin was captured on May 12, 2026 by #NOAA20. The basin typically receives less than 10 inches of rain annually, and is a migration corridor for elk and other species. It also has layers of rock from almost every geologic time period, with some from as far back as 2.5 billion years ago!
