En un mensaje dirigido a los #DiálogosMutis, @SchomakerAstrid, Secretaria Ejecutiva de @UNBiodiversity, destacó que la biodiversidad y la competitividad pueden convertirse en pilares de la prosperidad sostenible, pero advirtió que aún es necesario acelerar la acción para cumplir las metas globales al 2030.

Schomaker subrayó la importancia de situar la naturaleza en el centro de las decisiones económicas, fortalecer los flujos de financiamiento hacia la biodiversidad, impulsar instrumentos financieros innovadores y promover una mayor transparencia y rendición de cuentas por parte de gobiernos y empresas.

Asimismo, hizo un llamado a América Latina y el Caribe, una de las regiones más biodiversas del planeta, a ejercer liderazgo para avanzar en los 23 objetivos del Marco Global de Biodiversidad y construir un modelo de desarrollo que trabaje con la naturaleza, y no contra ella.
