🌐 This week, the Forests and Grasslands team participated in the 21st Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF21) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

🌲 Through IUCN’s engagement in the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF), the IUCN Forest and Grasslands team has contributed and will continue to  advance primary forest conservation and forest restoration as key solutions for climate resilience, biodiversity protection, water security, and sustainable livelihoods.

🤝 We are grateful to colleagues, partners, and institutions for the meaningful exchanges and collaboration throughout the Forum. Looking forward to advancing these conversations toward upcoming global processes, including the three Rio Conventions.

For #FullDiskFriday, we bring you this imagery of the sun taken by the Solar Ultraviolet Imager (#SUVI) on board @NOAA’s #GOESEast (#GOES19) 🛰️ on May 13.

The darkened area in the middle is a coronal hole, which releases high-speed solar wind—known as high-speed streams—that can cause geomagnetic storms. A high-speed stream is now passing over Earth, meaning G1 (Minor) storms could still occur tonight. #SpaceWeather
