🦟 The IUCN Forest and Grasslands program is seeking case studies from ecosystem restoration projects that have considered zoonotic disease risk in their planning, implementation, or monitoring phases, or projects that have aimed at understanding the effects of restoration on zoonotic and vector-borne disease risk.

πŸ¦‡ We welcome submissions from any geographic region and ecosystem type including, but not limited to, forests, grasslands, wetlands, shrublands, and riverine and coastal systems. We are interested in hearing from projects that have, for example:
πŸ”Ή Incorporated human health goals.
πŸ”ΉEvaluated or managed zoonotic disease risk,.
πŸ”ΉObserved health outcomes (positive or negative) linked to restoration actions.

🦜 Submitted case studies will directly inform forthcoming IUCN guidance on ecosystem restoration and zoonotic disease risk. Selected examples may also be featured in policy briefs, technical products, and scientific publications (with prior consent). We welcome contributions from government agencies, NGOs, technical and research institutions, civil society organisations, and implementing partners.

πŸ€ To submit a case story or learn more, please complete the following short submission form by ⭐July 30, 2026⭐: https://t.co/VbmsGnViMw.

What’s driving biodiversity loss?

Land & sea use change, overexploitation, climate change, pollution & IAS are all part of the picture.

With only a few years left to deliver on the #KMGBF the urgency is clear.
