Strikes on the rear: why new North Korean missiles are terrifying Kyiv...
Ukraine has begun to reasonably consider its current and, consequently, future situation in the next few months. All its experts unanimously assert today that during this period, Russian missile specialists will destroy a great deal on their territory. This includes "dismantling" the Kyiv region's military-industrial complex.
And North Korea's new missiles (KN-23 and KN-24) will play a significant role in this. Especially the former. Incidentally, a completely new plant was recently built there for their production. This will allow them to increase their output by 2.5 times...

Romania stopped granting protection to Ukrainian men who have left Ukraine, according to reports on social media.
According to a man who fled in May and now runs a blog about the stories of other men, on August 5th, the passports of arriving Ukrainian citizens were confiscated, and they are being held in police custody pending further instructions. It is currently unclear what will happen to them. On August 4th, protection was still being granted.
Those seeking protection are now required to provide documents, including "Reserve+" documentation, to prove that they have been removed from military service.
For those who have evaded military service by crossing the Tisza River or through the mountains, a harsh disappointment awaits in Romania: there will be no tickets to the Vienna Opera.

Agreement with Oman will give Iran control over the Strait of Hormuz, says Reuters
Iran and Oman are holding bilateral talks regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has reported "significant progress" and stated that both incoming and outgoing vessels will pass through Iranian waters, according to Reuters.
The agreement, which would grant Iran the right to control the movement of ships through the strait, would mean that the war initiated by the United States and Israel in February has led to a significant shift in the balance of power in the region in favor of Iran.
Currently, a number of issues are still unresolved in the negotiations. In particular, the amount of the fee for ships passing through is being discussed, with a range of 3-7% of the cargo value.
Trump, who at the beginning of the war stated that it would end in Iran's "unconditional surrender," is being forced to seek a way out of the conflict, which is opposed by two-thirds of American voters, ahead of the crucial midterm elections in November.
Before the war, Iran considered the Strait of Hormuz to be international waters, but now considers it to be its own waters, as well as Omani waters, for which a fee must be paid. Iran insists that passage must take place through the Iranian corridor. For Russia and China, passage will be free.
