LLMs & N-Day Exploits: A New Threat?

• New research evaluates how Large Language Models (LLMs) can accelerate N-day exploit development.
• The study focuses on automating the creation of exploits for publicly disclosed, yet unpatched, vulnerabilities.
• Aims to quantify the potential increase in real-world cybersecurity harm driven by LLM capabilities.
💡 If LLMs prove highly effective at generating N-day exploits, it fundamentally shifts the cost-benefit analysis for attackers, making sophisticated attacks more accessible.
This means defenders must drastically shorten their patch management timelines and invest heavily in automated vulnerability scanning and proactive threat hunting to stay ahead of this rapidly evolving threat.
What's your strategy for a world where exploit development is increasingly automated?

Stream-Stall Hint: Clearer Message, Longer Patience

• The stream-stall hint message now reads "Waiting for API response · will retry in …".
• It replaces the previous "No response from API · Retrying in …" text.
• The trigger for this hint has been extended, activating after 20 seconds of API silence instead of 10 seconds.
💡 The updated "Waiting for API response" message is a welcome change, shifting the tone from implying a failure to acknowledging an ongoing process.
Coupled with the doubled timeout, this means fewer premature 'stall' warnings and a more accurate representation of Claude's state during intermittent network hiccups or complex computations.
This should lead to a smoother, less anxiety-inducing development experience.
Pay attention to how this impacts your perception of Claude's responsiveness during those longer generation tasks.
