Agent SDK: `query()` Stdin Fix for Background Tasks
📡 GitHub · anthropics/claude-agent-sdk-python
🕐 24.07, 20:27
🏷️ #Anthropic #ClaudeCode #Claude #bugfix
• Fixed a critical bug where `query()` prematurely closed `stdin`.
• This issue specifically impacted background tasks, like `run_in_background: true` subagents.
• `stdin` will no longer close on the first result frame when background tasks are in flight, ensuring stable operation.
🚀
💡 This fix is crucial for anyone building complex, multi-agent workflows where subagents operate in the background.
Previously, `stdin` closing too early could lead to unexpected termination or data loss for these long-running background processes, making reliable orchestration a nightmare.
Now, you can confidently design more robust, concurrent agent interactions without worrying about your input streams abruptly cutting out.
