The image is meant to illustrate how national chauvinism, organised religion, and consumerism operate as interlocking control mechanisms under capitalism, pacifying and fragmenting the working class. These forces are not neutral or incidental but deliberate tools of the ruling class to maintain their hegemony over the proletariat.

National Chauvinism divides workers by encouraging them to identify with their oppressors along national lines rather than uniting across borders in class solidarity. Wrapped in the flag of the bourgeoisie, the worker is blinded to the reality that national interests are often synonymous with the interests of capital.

The Church, traditionally aligned with ruling classes, sanctifies this exploitation by preaching submission and patience in the face of systemic inequality. The alliance between religion and the state often serves to dull revolutionary consciousness, diverting the proletariat’s gaze from material conditions to spiritual salvation.

Consumerism, represented here by the iconic symbols of global capitalism, lulls workers into complacency by creating an illusion of choice and freedom in the marketplace while alienating them further from the products of their labour. It transforms basic needs and desires into commodities, ensuring endless profit for the bourgeoisie.

As Stalin wrote in Marxism and the National Question:
National oppression is maintained not only by the bourgeoisie of the oppressor nation but also by the bourgeoisie of the oppressed nation. The liberation of the oppressed nations is impossible without a struggle against the privileges and chauvinism of the dominant nations, and without combating the nationalism of the oppressed nations.

This highlights how nationalism, whether wielded by oppressor or oppressed nations, serves as a barrier to genuine liberation. In the hands of the bourgeoisie, nationalism becomes a weapon to divide workers, shifting their focus from class struggle to inter-national rivalry. For workers, the fight is not against other nations but against the capitalist system itself, which exploits all nations for profit.

⌛️📚THIS DAY IN HISTORY🪧

On this day in 1979, the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC), founded by Baldemar Velasquez in 1967, boycotted Campbell's and Nestle to demand union recognition, higher wages, and better conditions for migrant workers.

This followed a 1978 strike where 2,000 members walked off jobs in Ohio, seeking guaranteed wages, housing, and medical care.

The campaign included creative protests like a poster spoofing Campbell's as "Cream of Exploitation Soup" and a 560-mile march to Campbell's New Jersey headquarters.

In 1986, FLOC secured a landmark agreement with Campbell's, achieving union recognition, wage increases, and committees to address worker welfare, leading to deals with other major companies.

If the rabid hostility of US imperialism towards even social democrats like Gustavo Petro continues it may have a radicalising effect. The ability of Russia to withstand sanctions and the willingness of China to trade with sanctioned nations provides inspiration for genuinely sovereignist moves. These will not be easy of course and a nation like Colombia will have to go through a struggle against the domestic reactionaries in order to limit the power US imperialism is able to project into their country. A way has been opened out of the unrestricted dominance of the US imperialists and more leaders will attempt to walk that path now.

“What a torch of reason ceased to burn, what a heart has ceased to beat!”

Harpal Brar (5 October 1939 -
25 January 2025) was the founder and first chairman of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist).

Here he speaks at the Oxford and Durham unions against the motions ‘Capitalism can save the planet’ and ‘The West has a duty to impose democracy’.

Only those with an incurably backward, servile, cynical and exploitative mindset could have formulated the motions in 2008 and 2011, amidst the catastrophic decline and crisis of the global capitalist system.

Harpal destroyed the bourgeois ‘intellects’ ranged against him. Always. For that reason his message was stifled and censored on all bourgeois and ‘social-democratic’ platforms.

“The weapon of criticism cannot, of course, replace criticism of weapons, material force must be overthrown by material force; but theory also becomes a material force as soon as it has gripped the masses.”

"We cannot imagine democracy, even proletarian democracy, without representative institutions, but we can and must imagine democracy without parliamentarism, if criticism of bourgeois society is not mere words for us, if the desire to overthrow the rule of the bourgeoisie is our earnest and sincere desire, and not a mere “election” cry for catching workers' votes…"

The so called ceasefire has only been observed by Palestinians. The zionists have continued their decades-long aggression against the Palestinian people, merely shifting their focus from Gaza to the West Bank.

Peace for us means the destruction of Israel. We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations.

Britain only has 5 nuclear power plants left down from 17 in 1990. The DPRK continues to increase its nuclear fuel production technology and in the near future when it starts building nuclear power plants they will only grow because the DPRK will never send its industries to other places in the world, leaving its people without rewarding work. A planned economy for the people never leaves its people behind. It keeps growing in technology and productivity, all based on energy growth and these lead to increase in the standard of living and happiness of the people.

George Galloway having Andrew (it's gay to actually love women) Tate on his programme is the final scraping of the barrel. It is utterly deluded, internet brained nonsense from either Galloway himself or whoever is doing these bookings for him that cannot be excused. Interestingly enough Galloway revealed another aspect of his anti-communist attitude when he showed off his wretched book celebrating the counter revolution that ousted Ceaucescu in 1989 and thus put Romania on the path to being a neo-colony of the US imperialists and the kind of place where sexual predators like the Tate brothers could hang out. This kind of opportunistic nonsense from Galloway is sadly typical of where things go when you're driven by clicks and have become a slave to internet trends.

Angela Rayner posted this photo of herself on social media alongside the words ‘Never again’.

It would appear that no crime is too great for the west’s political and media class. Cynically leveraging the suffering of one people in the past to whitewash their masters’ attempts to exterminate another today is just what it takes to keep getting paid.
